He didn't, I dare say he would have been dropped but Buckley will keep him in since they're playing us.

Travis played the last time and kicked 2 of the most easiest 'Joe the goose' goals you'll see. Dunn did a great job on him.

My mistake, skimmed through the stats too fast.

I preffer to think of it as our chance to kill his career once and for all. And any of this ludicrous talk of them making a late push for finals while we're at it.

Career best game? WTF? Were you at the game? Actually, did you even watch it? You've just looked at disposal stats haven't you?

Well for starters I reckon he made his first effective spoil in league footy.

Some of his passages of play coming out of defence were good and I can see potential there.

Yeah he has potential, but "career best game"...?

To be fair Stu, it was the best game of his career.

It probably won't happen, but I wouldn't mind seeing Hunt get a run up forward.  Using his chase and tackle pressure.  Move Garlett up to the wing and give Petracca a run at Half Back.

Petracca's reading of the play, clean hands and long kick would be a massive weapon off HB I reckon.

Garlett's speed through the middle has been used as a real weapon in the past in bursts.

From memory, Hunt had a few good games in the forward line for Casey. Kicked a couple of 3's or 4's I think.

It would be worth trying as a change up I reckon.

I like the idea of Hunt on the Wing or HFF and Billy Stretch off the Half Back Flank as Billy is a better user and Hunts pace gets lost when he is forced into deep defense. Petracca will play more in the midfield this week, now that we have another big body up forward in Dawes to support Hogan.

Just looking at the Pies side last week, they have the worst forward line I have seen in a while.. Shout out to Carlton..

Jonesy coped a fine for wrestling.

How many fines is that for N Jones this year? Is he on his last warning?

Why is everyone dropping O Mac despite him playing his career best game?

i reckon his older sibling made triple the amount of mistakes than O Mac did.

Good point. Let's drop both  of them

I think the third fine is a week.

I might be wrong, but i think that's only if it's a report where you get off with a fine on "points" rather than a wrestling fine type of scenario.

Cloke will be rubbing his hands together for Monday. Our defence needs to be solid regardless of their form to date.

Rubbing his hands together??? Did I miss something here?  How'd he go the 1st time around.

You can get as many wrestling fines as you can afford to pay. It's not a case of three strikes and a one match ban for wrestling.

The three strike policy applies to classifiable offences, wrestling isn't a classifiable offence.

Jack Grimes had 24 disposals  and 15 tackles.

Stick him on a half forward. At least we know he will add as much forward pressure as possible.

MELBOURNE will head into the Queen's Birthday clash against Collingwood as clear favourite for the first time in more than a decade.

The Demons haven't been the bookies' clear pick for the marquee game since 2005, when Melbourne was second and Collingwood in 13th spot.

Oh jeebuz, we're screwed now!

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
