Based onnthe fact of what i have seen has not impressed me. Not a great kick, nor mark nor ruckman. Yes he has played 17 games.  Maybe 25 by years end. Is then 26.  Gawn and spencer are better rucks, Pedo is better as a forward. He would need to play [censored] minutes forward to get a game and i dont rate him as a forward.

I think he has something but at 25 you wonder if he can pull it together consistently. Was very unlucky to get dropped last weekend. Kicked 2, should have had 4.

Wouldn't think you'd need to trade to get him.

As as for Daw himself I've always had a feeling he would eventually click and become a genuine player with some real X factor. Nothing suggests otherwise in his time ON the field anyway. Tall, lightning fast, developing forward/ruck that seems quite coachable. If Brown hadn't come on the way he had he would have 15 odd more games under his belt for sure. I'd love for this to happen for us.

Acceptable trades IMHO;

 

Straight second Rd pick

Hunt (Lumumba to replace)

Salem with a pick to go our way (purely as Melksham is to come in next year)

Kent (small forwards are overflowing)

ANB (he is too talented to fall behind Trenners once he returns)

 

I'd love not to lose any players but that's not logical going forward and I've tried to be realistic in what it would cost to get him here. ANB, Kent and Hunt might need pick exchanges to come into play as well to get the balance right. Thoughts?

Daw is clearly no star.

But he is more versatile than Spencer and has more scope for improvement even at his age. And it's funny that some of the posters who are bagging Daw are the same ones who are more than happy to defend Spencer. Talk about emotional bias.

Daw has demonstrated samples of play that Spencer could only dream of performing. He just hasn't been able to string them together. 

Whilst there are obviously better examples of forward/ruckman around the league, I'd have Daw on the list if we were to get him for a packet of crisps. He'd provide further depth in our ruck division and again has much greater upside compared to Spencer.

Do posters realise there's a bloke named Ben Brown running around getting the third best defender on him every week, playing in a team that's on top of the ladder and who only a few years ago was playing in the VFL. 

Brown is hardly miles ahead of Daw as a payer.. He just performs more consistently.

If we could get someone of 'Jenkins' quality then it's not a conversation. Howver Daw would be an option if we couldn't get a quality forward/ruckman.

Brown is hardly a footballer.

One has come on quicker than the other as a forward and is therefore holding down a third tall position in the forward-line.
