Haha that is gold. Now he has broken into the side hopefully he stops pestering Roosy and turns his attention to Hogan with his 70 txt's a day.

"Have you signed yet?

"Have you signed yet"

That would make Hogan leave.

Hogan was quoted in an article today as saying Petrac is 'the most explosive player he has ever seen'.

Love it.

I certainly reckon the explosion of Fremantle's list as it crashes into a St Kilda-esque chasm of misery will be unrivaled.

Oliver is being criminally underrated in the Rising Star. I would have him ahead of Petracca so far, who has just firmed as the favourite, while Oliver wasn't even mentioned in the 5 or 6 names I heard mentioned on the radio.

I have him ahead of Petracca. I backed Petracca at $12's, and am in to Oliver at $15's (which he is at now). I have Oliver ahead of Petracca, but I think the market is factoring in Petracca's improvement, and the fact he is a second year player with a bigger body than first years (he is into $3.50 now). After last weeks performance it is hard to look beyond Petracca, but I still think Oliver will give it a shake. If TAC history is anything to go by, Oliver will come home very strong. I think he won the league medal after a slow start last year - when he had only polled a vote at the midway mark. I agree he is underrated in the rising star.

Here is a bit more about his games to date:  http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/117240/Ben-KENNEDY

But can't find who he barracked for as a kid.  Being from SA would guess Crows or Port.  Recruited from Glenelg so would further guess Crows...unless from Port territory SA folk generally barrack for the Crows:huh:.  Maybe your boy could send him an email/a letter via MFC or directly to him via Twitter.  Players seem to enjoy interacting with supporters, especially kids.

How about Wayne Carey then? Or is Oliver more like Wayne?

Maybe as much as Olisik is like ENYAW?

And on the subject of our rising star ~

DEES MAKE IT THREE WITH MAN-CHILD PETRACCA

Loved the subtle pressure of this:

“We’re definitely having a few good wins together and it’s not up to me for him to sign, but I really want him to stay.”

I can only surmise from the outside ....and taken all things with grains of salt etc . I get the idea a magnificent sense of camaraderie is building. That should not be under valued.

These lads want to go all the way  TOGETHER !!

What I'm pumped about is winning the Rising Star 3 yrs in a row - Hogan / petracca-Oliver (can't split them) / Weideman. And then tearing the finals apart next year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
