I've been on holiday down Sth Gippsland and am due to fly back to Perth at 1450hrs today! Unbelievable, I know.

Note to self:

Never let the handbrake book the flights again without checking fixture beforehand.

Pretty sure this is because of the broadcast rights. If you want to listen to SEN via internet you need to do it through the AFL app. Which is an issue because there is a delay when you listen live at the game of about 1 minute - best option is to take a pocket radio (got one at Kmart for $12).

I've been having trouble midweek and early this morning. Half hour to an hour before a game you can listen through the AFL app but this is more than that.

"COLLINGWOOD is facing a fine after it was forced to make a late change from outside its emergencies for Sunday's clash against Melbourne at the MCG.

The Magpies withdrew defender Tyson Goldsack because of illness and replaced the 28-year-old with forward-turned-backman Jesse White, who was not named in the initial 25-man squad.

The AFL confirmed Collingwood would be sanctioned for the late change.

White, 28, will line up for his first appearance of the season against the Demons.

The Magpies' emergencies for the match are American import Mason Cox, Matthew Goodyear and Brent Macaffer.

Final terms will be confirmed 90 minutes before the opening bounce."

Should not be allowed. What's the point of emergencies if clubs do this?

I missed exactly half our wins last year while in transit (*first half against Collingwood) . . . Good omen perhaps.

As if C'wood cares about a few bucks.  Like all fines, the size should be related to income.

Hoping for a big effort from the boys today. 2-2 after four weeks wouldn't be too shabby at this point of the season with Richmond, St Kilda and Gold Coast to come.

Since it is a deliberate premeditated  disregard for the rules and not a mistake or misunderstanding, there should be a severe penalty like loss of premiership points.

I will know within the first 10 minutes of the game what the result will be.

Both from our tackling intensity and the umpiring.

100% this. For years.

Jones gets pinged for lying on the ball, they score a quick goal - and game over.

Happened for years, last time 2 weeks ago...

Sigh

See you on the train on the way in, folks

I get sick of the negativity   I often wonder why some even bother to support the team if it brings them so much misery,  that being said the biggest pontificators after a game usually haven"t even watched it     they just whinge because that is their raison d"etre

Not sure that's true - I think most of us have watched the game. I will always follow the red and blue - I can't give up. But they've lost my trust... again, this year. It takes a long time to build up trust once lost.

Makes no sense at all. You have 3 players to choose from.

The opposition should get right of reply ie either to reject the change or change their own team if still time.

A few were questioning the inclusion of Pedo by suggesting he had no real match-up. If you switch perspectives, his inclusion may have been with a view to gaining an advantage with the Pies having no real match-up. Now we see them copping a fine to bring White in. Suggests we're dictating terms.

The fine should be Premiership points! What's the use of fining Collingwood dollars?

A horse called Mr Magpie just won the second race at Wyong. Hope that isn't an omen.

On the other hand, Demons Run just won the third at Devenport. Hope that is an omen.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
