Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I honestly am dreaming of the moment he's back on the G and kicks his first goal. Would be an incredible effort if it was round one, but hey who knows.

All the nonsense going on here about his kicking foot is comical. The supporting foot takes all stress when kicking. The adverse forces to an injury such as JT's on the kicking foot are effectively negligible. If he wants to kick on his left, he can and will. To say it's the least of his worries is to overstate it. Jumping, landing (particularly landing), push off at high speed. These are the critical forces, not kicking.

Thanks Webber.

As someone with no medical training and limited medical knowledge, I have to say I had thought the same thing (i.e. that kicking on his right foot would place much more strain on his left foot, which is the foot that remains on the ground and supports all of his body weight, than simply kicking a football with the top of his left foot and having the physical pressure being placed on the right foot). Nice to know that common sense is actually supported by the medical position.

Wonder if Jack's in the mix for the leadership group this year? He's a bloody good footballer, and is clearly highly respected by the players and coaches alike.

I bloody hope he's not. Let the kid focus on himself and don't place any unnecessary pressure on him. He hasn't played a game in almost 2 years. If - and that's a huge if - he gets back on the park this year he will lead in his own way; he doesn't need a title.

I would suspect zero chance. Roos has been big on trying to take pressure off the likes of draftees, Watts and even wins ( his first two years he constantly talked about commitment to improvement rather than wins) - to have Jack in the leadership group would fly in the face of how he operates.

"AFL.com.au understands...Jack Trengove may play...with a return over Easter in the VFL possible".

I recall Roos saying early 2015 the only expectation they had was just to have Jack able to walk normally again.  I was quite shocked to hear the injury was so debilitating.  That Jack is close to playing again is a stunning achievement!  Speaks volumes about the young man's character.  Grit and Determination come to mind.

Can't wait to cheer him on!

Will be a really special moment to see the number 9 back out on the G, jack has had a horror run but has handled himself brilliantly, he is an inspiration to anyone going through long term injury and i have no doubt he's been a huge part in Christian petraccas recovery as well!

That is the one I'm asking about, might see if I can get along. Would love to see Trenners run out.

It's an intra club at Casey Fields on Sat 26th. Whilst the scorpions website doesn't have a time for the game listed, I think it would be a stretch to be at both Casey and the G for the round 1 game on the same day. Much as I'd like to see Trenners and Petracca have a run, I'll happily wait until round 2 for their debuts against the cheating scumbags

Not sure if I am more excited about seeing Trenners epic comeback or the debut of Tracca.  I think I may be more excited to see the #9 run out in the Red and Blue once again to be honest.

They're two different emotions.

Trenners will get a tear welling whereas Trac will be uncontainable excitement.

That didn't translate very well.

i know what you mean. Out of the two I am more keen to actually see Trengove run out on to the ground. Once they are both out on the G my attention will be turning to Petracca

If the Club were smart, they'd switch this to Gosch's. They're likely to get a crowd with these two playing. They could set up a membership tent, do a sausage sizzle. Offer Casey members a discounted entry to the MFC game. It would be the only way to see both games and a great opportunity to get some more memberships through.

Clearly if he's about to play a game there haven't been any hiccups in his training since he resumed. They must know by now with all the work he's subject the foot to that it's going to be ok or they wouldn't risk him already. That's absolutely huge news. I must admit I was hopeful but not optimistic about hearing this at all and hearing it so soon is a big surprise. Although this is exactly the timetable Trenners spoke about some time ago.

So assuming it works out that he is in fact over the injury I wonder how many games he will play at Casey before we see him at MFC. From what I've read about how good his touch is at training it wouldn't surprise me if he does 3 games at Casey. I would have thought that's a minimum. 5 is probably more realistic. Would be great if he and Petracca were back in round 3. I've just booked everything for the Hobart game.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
