I don't understand why we always have red merchandise, blue merchandise with red would look far better.

Yeah im with you on that Clint, blue shirt red logo, would be much better. Guess they want them to stand out at games.

There is thought that too many other teams are producing dark blue / black gear now. Even sides like Adelaide ( God I hate them ) have produced some gear predominately dark blue.

Add in gear from Carlton, Bulldogs, Hawthorn ( believe it or not ) and the cats plus a lot of black and even Dark Purple from Fremantle.

So to be different the MFC are going mainly RED.

That is what was put to me when I asked the club this question.

Pretty sure its design is by Dave Larkins better known as lead singer of Dallas Crane, who also works for the Dees.

He showed me this design 6 months ago and it looked fabulous then, but it was late.... He has been working behind the scenes for a while now designing and re-branding.

Can play too.

Well done Larko!

Makes it even better. There arent too many things that are more Melbourne than Dallas Crane. Maybe The Smith Street Band singing "It's a Grand Ol' Flag"

I don't mind the rebrand (or rebland?) at all, I am just aware that the success of the team will define the success of the club's brand.

Well done to all in the city today, happened to be there on business today and got a free footy and a photo of Nat Jones graffiti. Smart marketing. Hope they get mileage out of it and commitment to it.

But, yeah, we won no fans with this - we all know what will...

Anyone else see Nathan jones Instagram and the top he is wearing? Blue with red on it just like some had suggest

I did and must say its the best polo top I have seen us have in a long time.. Considering ordering one myself to be honest.

This appeared on the Melbourne website. Any change of jumper?

Went and had a look at the Demon Shop, it's a training jumper apparently

Could it be that the shape is supposed to represent a heart? If so, that would make sense in several ways. Although, as an anatomist who has handled more than a few hearts, I can tell you that it's a very symbolic approximation of a heart!

Darcy Parish will look good wearing it as well. :)

I'd totally buy one of those polos. That I look like a bucket of pus in red is the reason I haven't bought one of the exxy polo tops in years. Love it.

The blue certainly looks better then the red.

My 7 year old son saw that and laughed, and said "Bullet Bill... no, Mel-Bill!"

Haha I love that your 7 year old knows Bullet Bill's name.

“We tried doing the emblem in a few different shapes, but we decided on an emblem that said a little bit about the past and a lot about the future.”

Umm, it has the name of the club/city and the old monogram in a shield that is sometimes borderless.

How does it say all these things?

Love it

If I was a young player (AS IF)... I would be absolutely buzzing and loving Melbourne..... as a club that has turned the corner and will succeed.

The whole package of good financial report, Hogan, Viney, the strong midfield, the stable coaching panel, ....would have me itching to be picked up by Melbourne or be at Melbourne ......and be part of what is happening.

And now the early wins......

There really is something happening.

Someone in charge is doing a very good job.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
