Emma Quayle suggesting on the Realfooty Q&A that Oliver is in contention at 3.

Suggestion elsewhere is that Parish is no longer in contention, and is far from being a lock at the Dons if he gets through.

Yep, none of the experts/pundits seem to have Parish at 3 anymore...

Dream scenario would be Weideman and Curnow this year. Then trade for Prestia next year.

I will tell you the Dream Scenario for this draft in 2018...

Jason Taylor this arvo: “We’ve just got a few little things we need to tick off in the next six days, but we fly out on Sunday to Adelaide, but we’re pretty close [with deciding on who we’re taking at pick No.3],” Any clue here? (though it could relate to later picks)

I can guarantee that whoever we pick, the media will go hard to mock us for not picking another player just like they did with the Salem and Tyson deal.

given how close this year's field is after the top couple, we are almost guaranteed that somebody around pick 13 will go to a strong club and start off guns blazing. In contrast our picks will probably not make too many waves early. The media and half this forum will give it the old Ollie Whines treatment for sure. I am sickened already.

Just looking at Jesse's highlights, it's nice to compare the new potential guys at 3 and 7 to both of them.

Anderson seems to think we won't take Parish 100%. I disagree. What does everyone else think?

I think if Brett's putting his reputation on the line he probably knows something. I also think Parish isn't all that special, so hardly a surprise we'd look elsewhere.

Coming in to the 2013 draft everyone thought Kelly and Aish were the sure thing pick 2 and 3. They remind me of Parish. Personally I'm just as happy with Salem as those 2 and I prefer Bont any day of the week.

I came into this conversation not really knowing who's who. I have my thoughts as to the type to take at 3 and 7. In reality i don't think it matters what we think the club knows.

In the oast we've sought silver bullets...the magic elixir to fix all evils.

We'll take two players here and two players there and they'll add to the bottom line.

I don't think it matters as much as we suggest. The FD will get its job done. Im comfy saying that these days as these players need not appear in 16...theyll take time and be given games when warranted.

So different...thank god

If I remember correctly, Gary Ablett Jnr was a very similar size to Parish in his draft year. Size is just a few numbers

I don't. Still plenty to play out. Weideman testing poorly today probably puts him out of the picture, but to suggest we are totally set on Parish right now is wrong. Lots of water to go under the bridge from here.

Would be very annoyed if we didn't draft a mid

Targets can make life easier for mids.

BTW, if we had 1 & 2, would we go Weitering & Shache?

By this is he maybe referring to the medical for Weideman possibly? And dependent on the outcome of the medical that will determine Pick 3?

If Oliver, Weideman, Parish and Curnow are gone (one of them to us) then who do we take at 7?

Is it one of the South Australian's in Francis or Milera? Is it big H McKay?

Are the next best options Darcy Tucker and Ryan Clarke? They might be my choices of the rest. More skill from half back or elite gun running through the midfield would fill needs.

We seem very focussed on the 4 players - 2 forwards, 2 mids. Is anyone willing to make a case for someone else?

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
