So in addition to Prestia's manager, Ashcroft has now said that Prestia will be playing at GC in 2016, and yet people still think that GC will trade him. In the words of Harry Hoo, "Amazing".

Yeah and we r still a chance to get Danger.

What's your point!

"Required players" are worth much more than those publicly on the table.. Of course he said that.

Almost all players are tradeable, dependant on the offer.

I love Brisbane's stance re. Aish. Yeah so they're probably going to lose out on a second round pick but the message it sends is very strong. [censored] Aish and [censored] these other kids 'nominating' clubs after 2 years. Hope he goes to Carlton.

Let's see, who are those kids and how are they doing now?

I'll highlight in bold the players who had an immediate, dramatic improvement in form and games the moment they were at a new club... oh gee...

Sam Docherty (Carlton); 19 games, 21 disposals, 6 marks per game, off half back.

Jared Polec (Port Adelaide); injured this year, but in his first year away from Brisbane he immediately became a key member of Port's midfield, earning 5 brownlow votes.

Elliott Yeo (West Coast); 24 games, ave 17 disposals, 5 marks, 3.5 tackles, kicked 18 goals. In fairness, it took a second year before really dramatic change.

Patrick Karnezis (Collingwood); nup, still sucks.

Billy Longer (St Kilda); 18 games, 9 disposals and 30 hitouts per game.

Jack Crisp (Collingwood); 22 games, ave 22 disosals, 4.8 tackles, kicked 16 goals

Looks like for all but one of those 'want-away mummies boys', leaving Brisbane made a dramatic and immediate difference to their football career.

But of course, the trouble is that they are 'entitled millenial whingers'. They should see how much loyalty they owe Brisbane, for giving them terrible coaching, a disunited and ego-riddled club living on past glories, and the prospect of their dream falling in a heap before it even got started.

If just one or two of these guys had suddenly turned things around, ok. But so many, so quickly? Even at Carlton?

Y'know what, I've changed my mind, I think we should get in the hunt for all of Aish, Redden and Luenberger.

Not sure why you are reading so much into what he sad, it was hardly definitive.

Definitely wouldn't put a line through Prestia just yet.

Mate time to give it a rest now.. He aint going nowhere.

He will be at Gold Coast next year, BUT that's exactly what Gold Coast would be saying IF he was being traded.

So it means nothing either way, really.

I would be getting on the phone to Aish's manager, the kid is going to be a darn good player. Pies will probably get him with the picks they will receive for Freeman/Seedsman

So this is what I was told today. The source is in the industry. This might already be common knowledge

As reported tonight Suns met with Dees today re Howe. Expect him to be playing north next year.

We are keen on Dixon if he doesn't get to Power due to trade

We keep inquiring about O'meara but he has a contract

Source reckons Melksham is a dud

Aish to Pies, Treloar to Pies

Lol. Hopefully he's wrong. I do think that away from Essendon, Melksham might be able to reinvigorate his game. He was more than serviceable a couple of years ago, despite the head.

Dixon - look, yeah, he can take a mark and kick a goal but it is not that simple when he has to fit into Hogan's Forwardline.

I mention that a lot and I am aware that Jesse can adapt to play with anyone and any style of forward set up but I am more interested in winning than fitting all these good players into a forward line so I would like him without internal competition 25-35m out directly in front.

The amount of teams that will double team Hogan and attempt to run off him will skyrocket starting Rd 1, 2016. Giving him the 50 is going to be a tough ask but I don't think another tall like Dixon helps; he has to play deep and when there are two talls inside 50 then Garlett has to there too and suddenly that space is non-existent.

Plus he has played 65 of a possible 110 games the last 5 years.

That all sounds legit.

If we told GCS 'ok we're happy to send Howe your way. If we hypothetically included this years and next years 1st round picks...'

How many players would GCS flat out refuse to discuss trading out for that haul? I'm not saying they'd pull the trigger, but I'd imagine it's a pretty short list.

I would prefer to trade next years first rounder as it is likely to be around the 9-12 mark. If we can use it to trade for an A grade mid with one of ToumpAs Howe Dawes ect and Draft Weidemann this year.

In Prestia Weideman Kennedy Bugg Melksham

From what I've seen so far, next years talent at 9-12 would rival this year's 6 (or where it will eventually fall at 8-10 depending on how academy selection bidding goes). The best in this years crop will be gone by the time we pick.

Sometimes I wish the Internet would break down during the trade period so I could waste less of my life reading up on every delicious, insane, infuriating bullshite rumour made up by "sources", aka the left hand of a pre pubescent teen.

surely there are other players that might factor into a howe trade?

If you look at Hawthorn's line up on GF day as a template they have Roughead, Schoenmakers, Hale & Gunston as tall forward options rotating through various positions in the forward line throughout a game. We currently have Hogan & Dawes. We need a player who can replace Dawes as he is not at the adequate standard to provide something going forward, we also need a forward ruck option. We currently have Howe & Watts as forward options however I think the club would happily trade either of those two if it could net us a more reliable marking & scoring option/s. We really only have Hogan & potentially Frost that are of the adequate standard to take us up the ladder, trading in at least another tall with efficient skills & marking ability is essential for us to challenge for finals. Hogan won't be able to do it alone, even the best forwards need a sidekick. Just look at Dermie & Dunstall or Brown, Brayshaw & Lynch or last Saturday's game of Roughead, Schoenmakers, Gunston & Hale if you need convincing.

I just think a Howe Prestia swap makes alot of sense, we may have to give up next years 1st round pick as well.

I'd rather give up next years 1st Rnd pick than this years. IF we can get Prestia now, via trading Howe & our 2016 1st Rnd pick, lets do that.

.... that gives us a chance to take a tall this draft, 1st up, & get a season into them by this time next year..... if we were to lose Hogan in years to come, in some way, then we've had some time spent developing the new tall forward.

but we must keep this years P-6

I'd trade our 1st rounder this year, 1st rounder next year and howe for Prestia and Omeara.

Heck, if they ask nicely, I'll throw in terlich.

I wouldn't; I'd trade our 2015 2nd Rnd pick & Howe; 2016 1st & 2nd Rnd picks; & possibly Spencer after they lose 2 of they're talls this year.

I still reckon O'Meara is the one we're chasing for this year...or one out of left field, maybe David Swallow? Prestia we'll aim for next year.

I very much doubt the Suns will trade Swallow or O'mear

Casboult doesn't play in the ruck. He plays forward and pinch hits in the ruck. Was also a rookie elevation rather then someone good enough to be mini drafted a year early.

Remember we're looking for someone to compliment Hogan and fit in with our structure. Not someone to be Hogan's equal.

You want to see Dunn or Tom McDonald going up against Goldstein in the ruck when Gawn needs a rest be my guest.

You made the comparison...

...and I don't think a player like Casboult will compliment Hogan & fit our structure.

Given I was the last one to quote a "source" before your post Jaded I assume you are referring to me

The source is real. If you choose not to believe that is fine, you don't know me so there is no reason you should.

Personally, I like to read what other people have heard and I just passed on what was told to me and I must admit I found the masturbation reference a bit tacky.

Ive heard We are going to trade out Dawes for our 4th round pick then immediately trade him back in for pick 6 + Howe. (Industry Source)

KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
