They are all up for trade, Watts, Dunn, Howe, Toumpas. No one is safe, we are an ordinary football team, obviously some tough calls need to be made. I am a massive Jack Watts fan, I think he has a lot of talent, has class, great skills, but he has also had a lot of time to prove his worth. To date, I don't think Watts has proved his worth, I'd be looking to cut loose any player who sits in the potential category, that would be Watts, Toumpas, and to a lesser extent Howe. I would move Howe on for other reasons, I think he is pricing himself out.

According to 3aw not only will watts be up for trade

But toumpas dawes and wait for it Dunn ????

Who is safe ?

I wouldn't be unhappy if all of them were traded, depending on what we would get in return.

Dunn would be replaced in the 22 by Frost straight away.

good to hear, this mean s, we are finally getting tough & will be ruthless in making this club stronger, bigger, better...

If this is watt it takes, to get the wright recruiting dunn, go go go... open our dawes, & lets get the talent & fresh supporters into this dying organisation; footyclub... before its too late.

Putting players up for trade isn't all that tough and ruthless if no-one takes them or we have to give them away.

All our trade talk seems to be about Howe, Watts, Dawes, Garland, Toumpas and now also Dunn.

I'm not sure how 'aggressive' it is for the club to be willing to consider offers for AFL-level players who are not critically important to the team, even if they are creditable and good contributors to culture.

'Aggressive' in my mind would be talking about trading Tom McDonald as a part of a deal to get Dangerfield. Or Gawn and our top pick for Prestia and big Zac.

For the record, I wouldn't approve of that level of ruthlessness. I think it comes at a secondary cost of increasing other player's willingness to move out.

Generally, when we struggle to assemble an AFL-level best 22, I'm reluctant to let any credible players go.

Putting them up, anyone wanting them and then any players of better value let along high quality coming back are slim.

? not sure I followed that lol

For mine Dunn is a Keeper. He's important for us.

What the [censored]

If we trade Dunn I am done with this [censored]. Most important player on our list in close to a decade, holds down the back 6 like a champion and we want to entertain trades?

I'm glad this thread is a troll post otherwise I would be [censored]

If Dunn is traded that's it for me. May as well just relocate to Tasmania if that happens as it would be the end of the MFC.

I don't make sense at the best of times let alone with auto correct.

What players of quality want to be a dee?

Dunn has been consistent with some high quality games over the last 2 years, won't be a loss of he is traded. Frost steps in and up hopefully.

Lol. Yep, that'll really be the end of it. Our 3rd tall defender in his late 20s being traded. I'm still not sure what we're going to do in Matt Jones' absence either.

Nope.

His comment about how we should trade Christian Salem at the end of this year because he is 'injury prone' takes the cake for me.

The guy is a fool. Try not to take him too serious AF

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
