As it's been stated that it's a fairly weak draft after the first 20 odd picks, I wouldn't be surprised it the value of draft picks may've lessened a tad.

Either way, welcome aboard MIlkshake!

No faith in Roos Dazzle.

Who would have thought.

Old mate einstien with the pathetic cheap shot.

I have absolute faith in Roos in what he has and doing for this club. But this decision me and many other supporters don't agree with. But i don't expect an individual like yourself to work out why.

I suppose the trouble is not all clubs would have the exact same opinion on the draft depth.

Given the inside knowledge on Melksham that both Goodwin and McCartney have, I'll back them to make this deal good for us.

Pick 25 is a steal for 2013 Jake Melksham and it's overs for 2015 Jake Melksham.

I suppose I have to back Goodwin's assessment of how he thinks Melksham can be developed.

Fingers crossed. Or, as mooted earlier, we're trading in a later second rounder somehow.

damaged goods

sword of wada hanging over him

high 2nd round pick

i don't think so

You have no faith in Roos.. how dare you!!

Um, I hope we are just 'moving back' in the draft because he is OOC, has one club interested from all reports and could probably make it to us in the PSD.

It isn't the end of the world, and he may end up being value but it doesn't look great on face value.

I'm not sure what people expect. You can't offer a player a 4 year deal and then all of a sudden when it comes to the trade table act like you are only mildly interested, and offer up your 3rd or 4th round pick. As soon as the 4 year deal was reported, it was obvious it was a going to be our 2nd rounder, maybe with a shuffle of later picks, which can be used for Kennedy and/or Bugg.

Einstien, any relation to Einstein? Hope so.

Listen Razzle, I'm confused. How can you have "absolute" faith in Roos and then disagree with the decision. Do you ever think about what you write?

And really, are you suggesting that I should ignore the decision of Roos, Viney, Taylor, O'Donnell, Goodwin and McCartney because you and many other supporters don't agree with a second rounder for Melksham? Let's see, Goodwin and McCartney spend years coaching him. O'Donnell will have seen him play many many times. Roos, Viney and Taylor work full time in footy. But no, Razzle Dazzle is upset and says we shouldn't trade a second rounder for him based on what? What do you bring to this debate that our FD doesn't?

I'm not thrilled but I'll at least recognize the collective wisdom that made the decision is light years ahead of anything I know and will read here and therefore I'll back them. So in short, I can understand you don't expect me to work out "why" you and other supporters think. I think the reaction here is just dumb.

Good get. Happy with a second rounder. I reckon the haters will be surprised next year.

Perfect case of a talented player not playing to his potential at a rabble of a club.

If he turns out half as good as Bernie then a 2nd rounder is cheap. If he turns out half as bad as Tom Gillies then ewwwwww.

Melksham circa 2012/13 would be very nice.

Pick 25 in whats meant to be a very weak draft is not overs, especially since Goodwin and McCartney have already coached him first hand and know what hes capable of

I'm sure a lot won't agree with me, but I expect Melksham to have an impact equal to Vince.

You're right about the first bit....

and the wada risk wasn't worth a big discount?

with that risk we are effectively giving the equivalent of a discounted first rounder

and four years just adds to the risk

but we should all be happy?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
