There would obviously be some sort of difficulty list management wise I would imagine given the inclusion of Franklin following Tippett a year later.

I would also imagine given the restrictions on the Swans by the AFL, the immediate push for restrictions to be lifted by talk of court action would influence their decisions this coming off season.

What are we paying Dawes at the moment - $500K? Surely Sydney would have to pay part of Tippett's salary to move him on, so if we could move Dawes on and add Tippett for an extra $100K or so it would be a decent outcome. You certainly couldn't justify having both of them on the list though.

I can imagine Sydney would be open to move him given the commitment to Buddy (and what it's subsequently cost them), and the lack of on field chemistry between the two.

Honestly, if we're after a 2nd ruck/forward, he's one of the best in the business.

I agree and I can imagine them interested in someone for their backline.

If he's keen to a move to Melbourne, it would be at least worth a serious look and what we have to offer.

Rumours abound that the AFL will likely lift the Swans restrictions that M.Fitzpatrick enforced. If that is the case, the Swans have room to move in trade period.

From what I saw on the weekend against Freo and in the past in finals, Tippett was very handy and his workrate is certainly not what others have described here.

With "no gurantees" for anyone on our list, the likes of Grimes, Garland, Watts, Howe, Toumpas would be looked at by opposition clubs. And as Roosy has stated, they have a job to improve the list. If that means obtaining a quality midfielder (ie.Prestia) and quality KPF/Ruck (Ie. Tippett), they may have to 'sell the farm'.

Well, what would get it done? We pay half his remaining contract and a second rounder? Surely, they'd want a first rounder. I guess if we convinced him to seek a trade to us? Given Buddy's situation, I doubt they'd let him go.

After Charlie Dixon, Tippett would have to be the next best forward/2nd ruck option out there.

Given we no doubt have hopes of climbing tbe ladder, i wouldn't be against trading Watts and next years 1st round pick with us only paying 500K of the last year of Tippett's current contract. We then just have to move Dawes onto one of Carlton, Essendon or Brisbane.

Would rather trade this years pick. Next years will be higher than this (considering we do rise up the ladder), plus this seems to be a lesser draft compared to next. Would rather bet on grabbing a gem in the draft next year rather than this year.
