Will Big Max re-sign?

Dees2014

Recommended Posts

Is there some reason to doubt that he will, other than the fact that he hasn't yet? Just wondering if I've missed something or if this is just the usual "how could anyone possibly love us?" self-flagellation type stuff.

Nasher it is more the language used by commentators with inside connections to other clubs, and the way they now talk about him, continuously pointing out that he has not signed. Similar language to what they constantly use for hogan, McDonald, Garland, and you watch they will over the next 12 months as he comes out of contract at the end of next year with Bernie Vince if he continues with his current form.

Clearly these players are on everyone's radar, except Maxy has put himself out there over the last six weeks or so because he has been in such outstanding form. There are very very few ready made ruckmen coming onto the market, and none of his size. He has the potential to be in the top 20 in the competition, and clubs pay a lot for that.

I'm a big fan of self-flagellation

Some feel that self flagellation offers the best of both worlds - sadism and masochism simultaneously.

Though a true sadist would feel conflicted - is it more sadistic NOT to flagellate the masochist, as all he wants is the pain? More sadistic to deny him that pleasure.

Isnt the maximum length ion the rookie list 2 years then they have to be upgraded or delisted?

Will have to double check the rules. But pretty sure interstate selections can have up to 3 years on the rookie list. Think Spencil did.

Paynesville?

I have often wondered, was it named after the occupants or as an observation?

since paying out on him in another little mates thread somewhere in the ether after a game against couldve been Port, he has absolutely shat on my critiscisms and gone BANG!

In fact this reminds me of when we kept Jamar over Jolley and now we have to seriously consider Gawn (and probably asta lavista on Jamar unfortunately) and how good Gawn is or can be consistently which hes just now showing signs of. Not sure on how many more 000's but I think $450-$500k py would be an offer and no more. Is Pencil going to make the grade too which is another serious consideration as well

I was in touch with someone very close to Max today. Expect him to remain a Demon!

Happy to hear this HB, thankyou for passing on.

It was also a very clubman orientated thing Max did to come up with the Trenners banner idea and then to get it happening. It doesn't scream of someone who is planning an imminent departure.

Stef Martin to ask for a trade back to a Melb based club according to D Barrett. How dumb are we. Could have had Max and Stef killing them in the ruck. Thanks Mitch Clark.

They're both one ruckman players. All or nothing...we need to find a really good forward ruck.

Funnily (or not so) enough Mitch Clark was that player.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
