Not your usual Jack Watts thread. He has been fantastic the last 5 or 6 weeks. He has chased and tackled along with his usual high efficiency with the ball. I was starting to lose faith with him but he has been fantastic the last few weeks.

Was very good again today. High fpoty IQ that bloke and the skills to execute. Even though he missed that goal on the run, it was great seeing him take on the game and use his speed.

I forgot to add that the last 5 or so weeks he has been using his speed to take the game on. I feel like he is in the best form of his career and hope to see a lot more of him. He is very cool under pressure and when he is being tackled always seems to get off a good handball.

Edit: I don't think I have seen him play like this before with this intensity and it is fantastic!

Said before the Queens birthday game I just want to see a tough, full body tackle from Watts, as I couldn't remember one.

That day, he nailed Varcoe a beauty and he has been good ever since. Laid another good tackle today. I have given up on him being a tough hard player, but when it is his turn I expect him to go and I expect strong tackles, something we are starting to see from him

Best game he's played I think.

Saved our bacon down back when we started to wobble. Cool head.

I want to see those bursts of speed more though!

The only thing Watts has been missing is effort and aggression.

He now has those on top of his footy skills and brains.

Keep it up Watts. Love watching him play this way.

Would have been great to c him nail that goal when he ran through the forward 50 digging collinwobble players.

Would have been icing on the cake.

I wonder how much f this has to to with Brencan McCartney working closely with him.

Hes a brand new player since he was dropped for the Hawks game

Starting to be a little narky during games too, must be starting to believe.

He will never be a crash bash player, but as long as he gives effort he will be a very good player.

I have been a pretty big Watts detractor. He has been fantastic the last few months. Absolutely turned the corner.

Yep. The cool head under pressure has been a feature for the last month or so, but the charging forward like a maniac was a new thing.

Confidence is a wonderful thing.

Maturing nicely. Great foot skills. Good decision making.

Anyone still want to trade him for sfa?

Been good.

Not for SFA but another good month and sell high.

Great composure today, looked a calm, mature leader

Great interview - whatever you think about his football, he's shown he's been able to soldier on in spite of unrelenting criticism. Well done Jack.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
