How many people are breaking it down to each game on its merits as opposed to winning x amount of games and then thinking it can't be done. I think too many on here are underselling the coaching panel. Before the Geelong win many were still questioning Roos as a match day coach thinking he's purely installing a culture. Are we underselling the work McCartney has done with the likes of Stretch and ANB during the preseason and first 7-8 rounds of the season. Out of those 8 the Pies and North I think would be the tougher games but are winnable. North has owned us for years, easily pushing us off the ball but they are currently a mess. The GWS game is an interesting one, I say that because it's in Melbourne and its rd 23. Depending on where they sit on the ladder could determine how they attack the game. Could they be safely in the 8 and look to secure their first final regardless of the result and rest players. Could they drop there next couple and fall in a heap.

I give us six of those games at most. I can't see us beating Freo, Pies or North, no matter what the form line looks like. Freo are just too far ahead and North always beats us. The Pies are the most realistic of the three. Then there is the sad fact that we are probably not much more that 60% on most of the others. Aside from Brisbane, they are all against teams at roughly our level. I have high hopes of a strong back end to the season, but we could just as easily see it all fall apart and finish the season on 6 wins.

Btw though we won 4 of our last 5 against Essendon, they kicked 484 total points V our 395 points total in those 5 games.

As the rest of the year goes we will win some and we will probably lose more than we win but to me things seem to be tracking along ok.

I'm really excited to see Harmes debut tomorrow, he will probably be a bit like ANB, a bit lost in his first game then again maybe not. Who knows with a young kid.

Is this the biggest game of his life? well yes it is as far as football goes, but if he doesn't get a kick he will be in illustrious company with J Brown in his first game.

It's how he adapts and applies himself over the next couple of seasons that is really big.

Same with the team, it's how we build over the next few seasons that's BIG, not the next 3 games.

Disagree entirely. We have a demonstrated inability to win when, on the odd rare occasion, we enter a game as favourite. I can't remember us winning as favourite since a "Relax we've got this" thread before a season opener we were humiliated in several seasons ago. We haven't won 2 games in a row since then either.

AT some point, if we ever want to be a competitive footy club we need to be able to win the games we should and we need to be able to win games consecutively. The next 3 weeks provide a golden opportunity to tick these boxes and take a definite step forward as a footy club.

The concern for me is that while we could take a step forward, we could just as easily take two steps back. Win 2 or 3 and it will definitely be a step forward in our development, lose all 3 and it's 2 steps back.
