H's foot could be 'fortuitous ' in terms of selection dilemmas. ?

Possibly, but I still think we are going in to the game a little tall. Garland is a like for like swap with Lumumba though, but I still think we should have dropped a tall for Hogan. However I'm happy to back the selection committee here, hopefully it works for us on Saturday night.

I still think the club could very easily make a late change depending on the conditions. JKH could well come in to the side for a tall if it's going to be very slippery.

Big opportunity for Gawn. Can match Nic Nat in hit outs (or at least not get embarrassed). But the biggest criticism of Nic Nat is his ability, or lack there of, to take marks especially contested.

Get on your bike big Gawny and get those dukes out

Also will be interested to see if Nic Nat starts ruck rover first bounce, have seen them do this to us, and other teams, more than once to good effect. Dunno how we will counter that.

Maybe a little off topic but I just scratched my nose with a hotdog, how strange is that?

I wonder if our midfield has been working on rucking to nic nat and roving his tap outs. We know how good he is at the centre bounce. Maxy and Jake will have there hands full but if Maxy plays like he did against the cats then he can get Nic around the ground with his marking.

Its 2 pretty good ins. I just hope we can put on an awesome show.

Great to see Stretch and ANB hold their places. Probably a bit ahead of time due to injuries, but it can only benefit their development.

Gawn will obviously have first go, but I think Spencer may be the one to quell NicNat's enthusiasm around the ground with his aggression.

Happy enough with the changes. We get back two good players, we lose Lumumba which is disappointing as he appeared to finally be finding some form, but Garland can help cover his role, and we drop the least important player from the Geelong game.

Not unhappy about the changes!

Which is just as well - or do you have an alternative option? A coup maybe? ;-))

gee what a surprise Dawes wasn't dropped was he haters

I don't think too many are surprised but I still don't think it's a good move 'Curry'.

I guess we will find out on Saturday night.

Well with the demonland crowd he needs to play about 4 times better than Hogan to get the same amount of credit

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
