GAME DAY - Round 7

Recommended Posts

Don't mind Hogan sitting this one out. I'm also nervous about Tyson and the lingering MCL injury he's been carrying. Wouldn't hurt us to give him a spell.

I would have liked to see Gawm get a run but no biggie.

Wise decision from the club. If Hogan is sore then he isn't worth the risk. Give him a rest and get him right for the Dogs. Won't make a difference to the scoreline today.

Well, we might have managed 5 goals with him in, now it will be about 3

This could be a turn off the Tele at quarter time sort of day.

Very fortunate the Hawks are weakened with there significant outs of Hodge, Lewis, McEvoy and now Smith.

Yes but we could do with Viney, Jetta, Hogan, Kent, Frost, JKH, Petracca and Trengove too

As I said, not much difference. I might be reading too much into it but we are clearly looking at the bigger picture. We aren't on the level of a Hawthorn but we can certainly be in with a show in our next few games.

Roos just said on MMM that Watts asked to be dropped this week as he feels he has been letting the team down in recent weeks. He has his haters but I reckon that is pretty honourable by Jack

When a player is omitted late for something vague and non specific like general soreness it makes me worried and/or suspicious.

Goes to show that Watts' confidence is as low is it looks on-field.

I really wish that I could believe what Chris Dawes said this week about coming up against the Hawks and his personal battle with Chip but really ...

It's so typical of Melb to come and talk the talk but when it comes to "talking" on the field no one is to be seen.

Has been happening for years now and tbh I would much prefer for everyone to shut up and procedure on the ground.

Would make a nice change.

Well that makes sense of why he was dropped after being a reasonable sub. Faith in selection panel restored.

True.

3 quarter time?

Hodge basically laughed at Dawes' comments and said he told others about it at the club to pump them up.

Says he expects plenty of players to mention it to him today, basically saying it's a fait accompli we will be shat on today and the comments are laughably stupid.

Also that using GWS as a barometer is pretty dumb, considering how much talent they've been given for 4 years running.

If that is the case I am not in support of it. What are you are talking about is throwing in towel before the first bounce. We as a club should never be about that. If we lose by 120 points today that does all sorts of damage.

we've been given nearly as much over the last 7 years. The difference is that Scully, Trengove, Morton, Petracca and Watts aren't out there for various reasons.

Absolutely love this from Watts.

I hate it, he's not good enough, he was going to be dropped anyway. He might have got in first before Roosy gave him the bad news. Watts will be lucky to get back in the team and today Hawthorn would have made him look like a girl. Edited by Henrietta Lumbago

I really hope Dawes plays well today and at least hits the scoreboard..

If he can't back his words up with an acceptable individual performance then he deserves everything the Hawks players will give.

I hope i am very very wrong, but i cant see us getting within 80 points even with so many of their champs out. God its hard to follow this club. I want hope, like the Bulldogs have given their fans. REAL hope, not just "potential"

Come on Dees, make me eat humble pie for once.

Be aggressive and creative going forward even if it means some frustrating clangers. Do this and we will give ourselves a shake.

!! But what about giving the Hawks a shake?...

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
