Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Is it possible that Jab knows he's gone, so whilst injured he's applied for the voluntary suspension or whatever it's called. Meaning a lesser final suspension when the ruling comes down? That would explain why he's not around the club, i.e. not allowed near the joint.

Also, why the hell wouldn't Essendon tell Hird he's on suspension for poor performance, on full pay, until the end of the year? Get him the [censored] out of there so the players can get on with it.

It's kind of plausible that Jab has taken a secret provisional suspension ... but then why wouldn't Heppell and some other of their better players also have mysterious injuries and end up far away from the club. They've got nothing left to play for this season. Doesn't make sense to single out only one.

More likely to me that he's crumbled under the weight of (potentially) losing his Charlie.

Fairly sure at this point that you can't take a provisional suspension. He is also coming back to the club later this week according to his old man.

The sporting world is now throughly corrupted. There is hardly a sport that is clean.

I keep following AFL because I am hopeless rusted on the MFC otherwise I would have left the game already.

The latest news on re testing the Olympic athletes just proves what I have always thought.

Most sports are so tainted I have no interest any longer.

For me the horse bolted long ago.

Even the horse is on cobalt!

Oh dear, there's that propaganda creeping up again!

Jimmy better get on the front foot and leak something damning against the AFL to Slobbo.

Took him less than 24 hours. Can't access the Hun site but the article today from Slobbo contains DIRECT QUOTES of two text messages from Paul Little to Hird. The thrust of the article is what a bastard Fitzpatrick is and how badly Jamesy Wamsy has been treated, with the text messages as proof (Little telling Hird the AFL has said he has to take 12 months out and to to refuse to do would be very bad for EFC and bad on his part being the thrust of one).

Now i think it is safe to assume Little would not have shown Slobbo his phone. So given they were private it could only be Hird, who presumably saved them for this very reason. Can't imagine Little would be too pleased.

It is staggering how Hird could be so indignant about he AFL leaking info to journos when he has clearly fed Warner and Slobbo for 2 years. James is adamant it is wrong to do so yet has no qualms doing so himself, one presumes because he can rationalize it somehow.

On another note there is another article in the paper (Warner and Slobbo i think) that just hammers the AFL. It is about the TB4 tests and is just hilarious how different it is in tone to the Fairfax story on exactly the same topic. The vibe of the article is that far from being bad fro EFC players it could actually be good.

Their pro Hird bias (and feral anti AFL sentiment) is surreal. For example quoting rent a quote Ings that it is not a 'smoking gun' ie it is not a positive test. Well der. It helps build a case of comfortable satisfaction though doesn't it.

EFC CEO Xav Campbell is complaining about the leaking.

However he says, "It is clear that WADA does not know what the results mean. There were no supporting documents or evidence in the WADA brief and there are real doubts as to the significance of these claims."

This would indicate that the EFC have received a brief from WADA containing information about TB4 in 2 players. So the leak may have come from EFC (Hird?)

It is far more likely that one of Hird's cronies leaked to strengthen his sack me now stance.

I hate one person in this beautiful world, and he is evil and corrupt and creates mayhem wherever he goes.

Surely the players have each received a copy of the WADA brief given they are the ones being pursued. It's pretty hard to keep a secret among such a large group.

Yep. The original Fairfax article said as much (ie all parties get a copy). So there is any number of copies floating about.

Fantastic line connecting, thanks LH!

Now where's Sue with the latest info from Bomberblitz? I'm having my morning coffee atm and it always tastes better when I know that place is in meltdown.

I logged on to Bomberblitz earlier and it was full of the usual desperate hope mixed up with conspiracies against EFC. Really quite sad.

One bloke posted something saying if WADA had this evidence 2 years ago it would be all over and they would have just had 3 week bans. I couldn't help myself and posted that if perhaps Hird hadn't fought it on technicalities that would be true. And asked why EFC supporters put up with him.

Just tried to logon to see if there were any response and lo and behold those guardians of free speech on Bomberblitz have cancelled my account. Doesn't take much to be considered a troll over there.

Small article from The Age, but I think it's interesting:

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/essendon-players-frustrated-by-leaks-dons-boss-says-20150806-git1ym.html

"In a recorded interview on the club website, Xavier Campbell said some of the players had found out WADA's claims for the first time through the media."

So Tim Watson knew about the 2 abnormal results 4 weeks ago, he has stated as much.

Some PLAYERS didn't know until today.

It seems to me that the club has intentionally left some players in the dark about this. I would assume that there will be some VERY angry calls from players to the CEO today.

Oh and the good ol' captain is sipping beers at the Ashes.

this doesn't make sense. As noted above all players (or their lawyers) will have received a brief of all WADAs evidence etc in preparation for the hearing. As i understand it EFC would not have received anything as they are not parties to this hearing (nor for the matter are the AFL).

So the club hasn't left any players in the dark and if a player wasn't aware of the evidence of elevated TB4 in 2 samples it could only be because they haven't bothered reading the brief or the lawyers haven't bothered to tell them.

In that case, which players would be stupid enough NOT to read the briefs?

Still doesn't sit right with me.

Maybe it's just Campbell making stuff up about some players learning about it today.

Think of some of the players we've had at Melbourne in the recent past. There's quite a few (and I'm not going to name anyone) who I can imagine might not read the legal documents, or, if they tried to, didn't understand them. I imagine Essendon will have similar players and ex-players

Yes, quite interesting.

Shame he doesn't explain how Tim Watson knew 4 weeks ago and why he had rights ahead of some players!

It could be that Campbell is saying some players didn't know to shift the focus somewhere else.

It could be that the players that didn't know aren't in the 34 or are no longer on EFC list.

But it could be that only the 2 players affected (and their parents) knew the details.

This would explain how Tim Watson knew and that points to Jobe maybe one of the 2 players.

Methinks Tim said too much to the press when he said he knew '4 weeks ago' and had discussion with the lawyers!

I think Campbell is talking thru his hat!

"The letter box?"

"Yeah. That thing."

"It's alright son. It can't harm you. What's it about?"

"How would I know? It's one of them flat white things."

"A letter. You can open it. Tell me what's inside."

"How do you open it?"

"Just tear it."

"Oh right." (sound of tearing) "I opened it."

"What's inside?"

"Another flat white thing. Only some bastard's gone and and torn it in half."

"Well, that's because-- never mind. Read it out to me."

"How do I do that?"

"Pretend it's an ipad and you're reading someone's facebook page."

"Oh right! It says 'D.... de.....dead'! Oh no, someone's died!"

"Is it 'dear'?"

"Oh right. 'Dear. Dear J.... j...... j......"

"Never mind son. Bring it with you for Sunday roast and I'll deal with it."

"No, you dill, it's chi--- yeah, it's roast magpie. See you Sunday."

right and this same ignorance/disinterest/dopiness probably had a lot to do with them getting injected in the first place with no idea what was going on

In years gone by, this saga would've belonged to the MFC. God knows how we've dodged this one.

Easy really,, we haven't set about to cheat. Incompetence maybe, but not deliberate, calculated cheating in the way Hird has done. In his eyes, his only crime is that he has got caught and now has to face the music.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
