Good luck to this kid, I still remember seeing this photo for the first time when we first heard of him.

Would be a lovely sense of deja vu to see him have a few bounces down the ground like his old man.

After St Kildas win and before the ball has even been bounced vs the Swans, we have fallen into the bottom 4. So depressing.

Glad toump will most likely get to play most of the game, hope he can impress

[censored] out boys... Watts has been named the sub.

Edit - which also means Stretch gets at least 3 quarters of the game. Can't complain with that.

Again, just a bizarre choice in sub player.

Not as much as last week. Watts can at least have the potential to impact the game than McKenzie could.

I'd be very disappointed if we lost by more than 4 goals tonight. Anything less than a crack and some venom would be disastrous.

This club needs to turn a corner. Tonight can be that corner.

I'm not expecting much, though. I actually predict an 8-10 goal loss. We still can't score and our midfield is inept.

If it rains, we might be a chance. Dogs looked flat in the 2nd half today. But Swans are as well drilled as you get.

Bizarre....how so? He's being made to undrrstand what "non negotiables" are and what they mean for the team.

Not bizarre at all. He's the 22nd picked player and versatile, capable of making an impact. I think he's a good choice. Hopefully the rocket he needs.

I understand what you're getting at, but when has Watts ever responded to a 'rocket '? If anything, this could diminish his confidence even further. He needs to be able to play his natural game and return to form.

I hope I'm wrong, and I might very well be, but it just seems strange to start a tall as a sub, the week after having mistakingly put a tagger in that role the week prior. See how it goes.

Haven't had a drop all day. I think it will stay dry.

Think ill move back to town.

I think there is a significant ramp up in pressure being placed on the chronic underachievers on our list - and a good thing too.

Watts as sub is a pure indication of his position on the list.

Neeld tried that with Watts and it did no good. In fact it set him back even further. I reckon it is a poor decision. Either play him under (last chance) strict instructions or drop him to Casey.

I don't rate Roos' team selections in general.

Good choice.

Its obvious we are looking for more run tonight.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
