H really had no choice as he couldn't handball and his back was to the boundary. The third quarter will show how much we have learnt. Need to get Vanders and Tyson back into the contest and improve our ball movement between the arcs.

He could have not picked the thing up.

Umpires should wear noise cancelling earphones or simply don an Adelaide jumper, it's so blatantly bad.

You don't get cheered paying Melbourne frees.

Cross is still getting isolated by opposition sides when they come out of defence. He needs the support of players to do the "quick switch" when to make sure we have someone else to run with his opponent.

Watts excepted our physicality is much improved.

JKH trie to be too flashy - needs to concentrate on the basics and Kent needs to get more involved.

We are having many more better quarters than last year.

SEN top 5 - Sloane, Thomson, Harry, Jones, Howe (+ McD)

Bottom 5 - Dawes, Dunn, Walker, Jacobs, Danger

FFS get off bagging players .....save it till when the game finishes......they've had as many dropped marks, kicks out of bounds etc. They're having a red hot crack & I can see they are a vastly improved team....Second half may disappoint but they are becoming a better more competitive team who I like to watch !!

watts for henderson or yarran?

I would have taken Robinson just to crack skulls and the effort dee.

Not the smartest tool in the shed or the most skillfull footballer i've seen. But his scrapping/pressure/tackles and general take no prisoners approach can do amazing things to team mates playing around you. Some grow an extra leg with a few tough nutz around like that. Could have shared the duties on Danger a little today as well.

Cross Jones and Robinson would have be a real hard pack for anyone to deal with rotating through the middle.

For all his stuff up Watts still manages the only goal assist of the quarter. How the Fluck do you turn this guy around?

Elated feeling but dread as well . Defence and take our chances is all .

Yarrans about to get 3-4 weeks for belting chapman.

Its the "old" heads that continue to balls up our play today, I'm talking about Watts, Garland, Howe, even TMac is starting to revisit Clangersville and Jones hasn't set the ground alight either.

The exception is Jamar who is battling well in the ruck but offering nada round the ground

Agree. BTW he was still protecting himself not going for the ball in the contest, when it came to him and he gave it off.

I love Jack, but he is the softest player in the AFL and yet one of the most skilful.

Overall it's been a fantastic effort to date, haven't been able to put the score on the board when given the chance though. We really need to learn to do that to apply scoreboard pressure as well as physical pressure.

Let's see how they go second half.

Premiership quarter. True test of where a team is really at IMO especially away

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
