Ahh this is poignant. It's how I arrive at a much earlier post...alas

No...didnt expect us to win a flag yet.  Just about all to a tee expected us to start knocking on the door by years end. We seem again caught in a revolving door .....i.e in out in out.. chasing it all about going no where.

We ended 15  as 13th with 7 wins.. Its quite possible this year we may end up 14th.

Just doesnt strike me as much of an achievement . Makes a mockery of of the talk and bullshlt that still surrounds this club.

I thought 10 wins a bare pass.  8 or 9 is a fail

Our game day ability to adapt to other teams is woeful. We still lack any real leadership on the field..what happens off filed is all nicey nicey  but where it counts is  once past the white line.

We're still a club of excuses.

As OD has mentioned Jackson's verve for seeking finals this year has gone to ground.

So many here still aspire to mediocre results..  Maybe more than a handful wearing the jumper do as well.

Russell yo yos ought to be our primary sponsor.

You wrote this trype and we just rolled Hawthorn. Next time think to yourself "If we win 1 game does my argument become invalid?" If the answer is a resounding yes don't post

In your opinion Praha, is Dion now committed to Prestia?

On Footy Classifieds, Hutchy, Barrett and Lloyd were all pumping up Melbourne, and Roos in particular. They asked Judd for his opinion, fully expecting him to agree. Judd basically said that the season should be seen as a failure because we didn't make the finals. And if we were content with our incremental improvement, we're destined for failure.

But we haven't quite failed to reach the finals until it is mathematically impossible (which it isn't yet)!

Judd sounds like a massive c*ckhead, to be fair.

Not sure anyone at the club has been crowing about incremental improvement or the "success" of missing finals.
It's all relative; it's not as if we've finished 12th and are celebrating about challenging for 10th.
We've been spanked by the better teams and implementing damage control, but we've advanced to competing and now sometimes overcoming the bullies of the league.
Anyone with any sense can see where we have improved and the future success available to us if we continue to work hard and do things the right way.

I'd also question what he actually knows about building a winning culture and sustained success himself, considering he was brought to WestCoast when they were set up ready to go, and did sweet FA at Carlton, other than being a great player who practically won a brownlow by default when all the better players fell away with injuries.

Haha, clearly had Prestia on the brain (and Richmond slipped to out of mind somewhat).

In your opinion, is he committed to Richmond?

Haha, just being a smartarz. But I agree, Judd was phenomenal on the field but absolutely lacking in other areas. Carlton should have kept Kennedy and spent elsewhere. Ain't hindsight a beautiful thing?

Interesting thoughts from Judd. I guess his point and probably what Roos will leave the players with is be pleased with the improvement but want more. No more honourable losses, we play each game to win. (Just realise I'm posting this in the Prestia thread, where did it go?!)

He could have played for his childhood team, fulfilled his dream. He rolled the dice and went chasing a flag with a bunch of pretenders.

It's a fine line, pull it off and you're a hero. Fail and you're a w@nker. Or is it the other way around...

Very good player but I agree that they would be paying overs with pick 6

Not sure gold coast will get that for him...   far more than richmond will be willing to pay.   Don't quite understand why you would pick richmond.  And i am assuming we just did not offer him enough money.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
