To be fair as well, he was the guy who said in no uncertain terms that Neeld had gotten the entire playing group off side and needed to go. He was also the guy who said that Paul Roos was a certainty to sign on.

blind freddy could have picked the first.

Who is th guys and why do we want him?

Maybe you should watch more footy?

Garry Lyon never said he was coming to the Dees. He said he was coming back to Melbourne the city not our club. He could end up anywhere would be handy.

Stupid comment, and if you are a true supporter you will admit that is a stupid comment, because he has done lots for this club, like many players..

His decisions of late gave been bad ones, but done with the right intentions.

Actually dingbat it isn't a comment, it's a question.

If we could snare him for our first round pick (pick 2-6) and a player not in our long term plans or a player like Toumpas and our second round pick I'd be happy to trade for him.

Probably the same as his cousins.

Jack Viney and Brayshaw go alright. Reckon I could work with them, Vince and Petracca.

Purple on the Footy Show tonight adding fuel to the fire (or, more likely, trying to derail the deal) but essentially saying we're desperately trying for Dion to join us as early as next year, regardless of his contract status. Saints also very keen on him, so he's definitely being chased by Victorian clubs and disenchanted up North.

Apparently Gold Coast had a formal meeting with Dion, Rodney, Dion's dad and Dion's manager last week to clarify what was going on. So there's something in the works, but it remains to be seen what eventuates.

Straight swap for Howe would suit both parties (well, us :)), especially if Dixon leaves.

They wouldn't take Howe by himself for Prestia. Prestia is worth a top 5 pick.

In a draft that's widely recognised as weak, our first pick and a player such as Howe would be more likely IMO, if it happens at all. Can't see it happening, but stranger things have happened

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
