One thing I did like from the video is once he went to ground he was getting straight back up again, too many players take far to long getting back on their feet.

Shows a desire to compete

Remind anyone else of Frawley's chase on Jetta?

2010! Yes! Great chase.

Wouldn't say it's a master-stroke based on two pre-season games, but the early signs are very good.

I noticed McDonald himself was more assured of himself with ball in hand today too.

I actually think it was, and will prove to be, a masterstroke.

Pick 23 (or whatever it was) for this guy, especially in the context of the club losing our most experienced/best defender as a free agent to the Hawks, is an absolute bargain.

And we got Brayshaw for that defender we lost, whose absence I don't think will particularly hurt us given the recruitment of Frost.

Salem and Tyson for pick 2 was also a masterstroke.

The club finally seems to have worked out how to draft and trade players.

Y'know what's annoying? When you read a thread and find an entire page of a thread is filled with lame puns/jokes. I have no doubt it's hilarious when you're part of it...

I really didn't think it was worth such stern PUNishment.

What I find annoying - primary administrators who take it on themselves to decide what other people should find funny. There was nothing offensive in what was posted. You had no right to be so heavy handed.

Gawd, we've gone early here! Don't want to wait until he actually plays a game?

Dont need to. Showed great signs at GWS and has already shown in 2 games with the MFC that hes an athletic freak that takes game on.

People will soon be asking why GWS let him go,

Mate, I'm sorry, but most people open threads because they want to discuss the topic in the title. I have deleted posts I have personally found funny many a time, when they don't have a place on the site.

I'm not being the humour police, I'm being the needlessly and intentionally off-topic police.

I'm sure if WJ and Demonland think I'm too heavy handed, they'll bring it up with me.

Fair enough. Put it down to pre- Monday grouchiness

Will become a key to our defence for the next 10 years. He's an athletic freak and loves a contest. He'll play both shut down roles and rebounding roles. Another great recent piece of trading!

Talk about a frosty reception (I'm hoping this wasn't one of the puns that was deleted).

Remind me - was that a few years back when he wanted to play for the Demons?

It's Lumumba by the way. However, you are not the only one putting an A instead of an O. Cheers mate.

O'Brien was a lot easier to spell (I think it was, not O'Brian)?

I think he was in the middle of contract negotiations

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
