This is what I'd imagine. He's had his time as a club CEO and seen Geelong go from being a mid-range club with good assets to a powerhouse, he has set himself up for life in property I just can't see why he would jump back into this high pressure world.

I get the feeling a lot of Demon fans are nervous and haven't warmed to Bartlett. We've accepted Roos and Jackson because they have the runs on the board and we can see tangible improvement in their respective areas. Bartlett on the other hand we haven't really heard much about and when he opened up about his visions for the club it's felt similar to what we got from past presidents.

For that reason it's easy to get those old pitchforks ready. I really hope that Bartlett is making PJ feel comfortable in his position, as I said earlier I'm not sure about where he stands long term with the club but if he's wanting to make a longer commitment then it should be something considered.

I suggest next time you are at training and see our President there you should take the time to go and have a chat to him. A very friendly, personable and passionate Melbourne person.

We were all happy that we never heard from our Board. They allowed PJ the freedom to carry out the task he had set out to complete. We are so far ahead of where we were 3 years ago both administratively and in a playing sense. This may not have transferred itself to wins but this could only have happened if PJ had the confidence of the Board and was allowed to make the changes that he has made.

Saying that though I would feel more comfortable if we knew if there was a timeframe for PJs tenure at the Club.I hope there isn't but I think we are all a little unsure because of his initial statements when he first arrived at the Club. No member of a football Club would ever question how long a CEO was staying. There are no limits really but because there is a belief that he was helicoptered into the MFC by the AFL we supporters and others naturally believe there is a time frame. There might have been initially but maybe he has just fallen for the Club that he was to steer out the quagmire. I hope that Demondame is right and there is no truth to the rumour because with a bit of luck we are on the move and it is because of the stability of the Board and PJ's belief in the Club.

I think the reason is the need to justify their existence P-man.

The sports media is a big business with the need to fill hours of programming and acres of news print every day.

Therefore "reporters " ( for want of a better description ) need to constantly justify their existence.

The norm nowadays seems to be if you get a small piece of a potential story you run with it before someone else does.

No need to clarify as if you are wrong it is forgotten tomorrow in the tidal wave of daily drivel served up.

The most important thing that Peter Jackson can do for the Club is to make sure that when he leaves he either lines up a top notch replacement or has trained somebody to take his place. We need a continuity of good CEO's to ensure our success because the quality of the Club's CEO's over the past 25 years has been from dreadful to very ordinary.

The report aired on 3AW was complete and utter rubbish. The Club made the decision not to respond so as not to give the story any oxygen to propagate it further but I do want to assure you that it is a nonsense.

You will recall that Peter renewed his contract with the Club last year on an ongoing basis until at least Oct 2015 which is great for our Club. Peter originally signed on for 6 months back in 2013 when he took over as CEO and the Club has benefited tremendously from his decision to stay on past that original term.

Peter continues to achieve outstanding results for our Club and the board couldn't be more pleased with the efforts of Peter ,our executive group, staff and players.

The Club is in the strongest and most stable position it has been for a long time.

Yankee Bartlett heads for the door before PJ. I'm sure PJ is difficult and autocratic - I'm sure he doesn't refer to the President or Board for decision making - but who cares - he's landed Roos & Goodwin, major sponsors, AFL special funding and turned a profit this year - best CEO I think we've ever had - and he doesn't spin or sugarcoat anything.

If Bartlett stuffs this up members should call for his head.

I for one am sick of the inaccuracies in the media, further I distrust all commercial media and choose the ABC as a reasoned source of information.

To me it seems like some ex board members have been talking out of school. I wouldn't put the blame on the media here, it wouldn't be the first time a CEO and President didn't agree on everything but does this mean there is tension at the top. According to Bartlett no.

I have a deep seated mistrust of all media, but we have to get information from somewhere.

I have a deep seated mistrust of all media, but we have to get information from somewhere.

they ALL do have their own little barrows for sure.

For me a number of sources works well and then try to figure out what is common to all and check that against any known facts etc.

Like you though, dont trust them as such
