You blokes are all making good comments

My old man who went on to brew the Coopers home brew said there was no such thing as a bad beer

Of course here in Beechworth we are blessed not only with a great selection of wines

but also the Beechworth Breweries who make a complete range of beers including specialty beers during different seasons or if different local product is available. There tasting pack is fantastic and if you cant get here to try it you can get it from most of those boutique pubs.

We also have the Beechworth honey Mead and my favourite honey and ginger.

Oh and of course we are surrounded by orchards and have some great Ciders coming out of the area. All varieties from sweet to dry, and different alcohol content for all tastes.

And we have cordials as well for rehydration or energy supplement.

There are some trying to stop them carting our water away because we know the value of fluids up here.

Can't say I agree with your old man there dpositive. For more info, see Tooheys Red (aka the red terror), the original XXXX (sorry Biff though I appreciate the punworthiness of your comment), Super King Solomon and Brewry (found in Japan and yes, they did misspell the label), Snow Beer (found in Anhui China) and Biere LaRue (found in Vietnam).

Well yes I tend to agree with you as well but must say dads experience was limited .

I quite liked the original Tooheys Red as it was a great thirst quencher but it could not be taken in large quantities.

XXXX yes agree with your comments (including salute to Biff. Irony is Dads recently moved to Qland and even made comment that he thinks hes getting used to the XXXX

Had the Snow beer and others in a visit to China and I couldnt find anything worth drinking there. Even the Carlton franchise was worse than XXXX.

The others you mention havent tried and wont. Thanks for the heads up

I will second this also. I live down the road at Everton and the Beechworth brewery is one I highly recommend to anyone that sails on through there. Some of the local brew is just as good if not better then majority of the commercial beers.

White Rabbit White Ale is my pick at the moment and Red Hill Golden Ale never disappoints.

Had the White Rabbit Dark Ale a couple of weeks ago at Little Creatures in Geelong, really nice drop.

Must admit, always been a Coopers Red fan (will admit the best beer comes from crow-eater heartland), but this might make me switch...

If you wanted a controversial thread you could have tried a Jack Watts thread.....

I recall a couple of decades ago they had a few issues with their "I can feel a Four-X coming on" campaign in Europe... apparently it's a popular brand of condom.

Now here is a point of difference Jizz. We "plastic farmers" have to work for our dollars. We do not receive the obscene government subsidies and tax support that your lot do. In fact, I am am probably subsidizing your luxurious lifestyle. Next time you buy one of Biffen's whores, think of me.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
