Are Petracca's hips a risk? Could that be why Saints are turning him down?

It's hard to tell when you're joking or not.

So Saints aren't taking him because of his hips and you think he will leave for Collingwood at the first opportunity because he's not loyal...just wow

Thank you so much for posting that. I'm so excited and I'm going to say it..... Petraccattack!!!!

Let's hope we don't Petrucc-it-up!

And a lot thought Clark would retire and we would get nothing. So Lulumba free essentially as well as Garlett. Frost cost a little bit but is 20 and a man mountain! Stretch at a better pick under fs. Not to mention Newton free. Gotton rid of more dead wood. Plenty to be excited about.

Me too. But I'm over that delusional feeling.

I'm now more logical. The club is being built differently now. Properly built. Resurrected in fact.

For instance, Gartlett and pick 83 for pick 61 and 79. That's simply an outrageous deal.

Previously, we would've traded our first round pick for that. And still been excited.

I rate him and fully support the trade BUT let's not forget he played 9 games last year @ 8 touches a game and has some off-field issues. Certainly not a slam dunk

Hell, Saints are taking McCartin and Petracca did fail the Psych(o) test

Jeez

Edit: from a dead reliable independent sauce (for me anyway)

If it's the same that Steve Milne, Andrew Lovett, Sam Gilbert and whoever set the dwarf on fire passed then I think we will be ok

I am pumped.

This is turning out to be a bloody good trade/draft period for us.

Particularly when you add Goodwin and McCartney into the mix.

Go the mighty, fighting Demons. Bring on 2015.

We're back. Almost.

I'm more confident too, Ron.

Also more cautious.

Will love it if another team passes on a kid for "psych/behaviour" reasons and we are the beneficiaries for a change.

Who knows what his test results were - to me it is sounds like some fabricated justification by Saints supporters as to why they have switched when the reality is probably they can't split McCartin and Petracca but their need for a tall is greater. Behavior has not been touted as issue except in the last 2 or 3 days.

Having said that there were a few on here who were really keen on Dayle Gartlett.

I'm excited by what drafting Petracca and Brayshaw, along with the recruitment of Newton, does for our midfield profile.

Previously I was a bit concerned about the lack of size, with one of our best contested ball winners being Viney.

Tyson, Brayshaw, Petracca, Newton, dare I say it, Trengove and Watts, all tall prototypical midfielders.

And Michie, Riley, Jones, Vince all are now the smaller-to-medium mids.

It bodes well.

I'm on a daily roller coaster of who I prefer between the two.

At the end of the day I figure we're in a win win situation, as we'll be getting a great player and the added benefit of our top picks not having the no.1 title as a burden.

Btw today's preference is Petracca!!!

There is no guarantee of that Wormburner.

What we are getting is a good junior footballer.

A good senior footballer is very much in the lap of the Gods.

You would think after so many misses ( and not just us but by all clubs - but yeah..us in particular) that excitement would be tempered and posters with the habit of making bold pronouncements about the "guns"we are drafting would see how fraught with danger this habit is....apparently not.

We should get Richmond's psych tester to test him before we commit.

Is there a listing somewhere of everyone who has registered for the draft?

In particular, I am after those 6 digit player ID's that they call out before they say the players name.

From TJ in 97 through to Jimmy Toumpas - I've learned to cool my jets over the years

That's understandable.

But surely we're due to unearth a couple of stars? Surely?

Almost every club except our own has been able to develop A grade AFL players at some point over the last 10 + years.

I've never seen the club in as good a position to do the same. Have you?

There's really no comparison in my eyes. So much has changed in terms of the quality of personell in both our coaching/development and our playing list in general.

Tyson's season alone last year counters any argument against our club being able to develop.

Forget the past.

It is completely irrelevant now.

Tyson's season tells us we can now pick a player, and someone from left of centre. He hasn't been with us long enough and his preseason was restricted to claim we can now develop players. Tyson has ability and a good head on his shoulders.

Lets see who we take tonight.

We all know how our past draft picks have worked out. After so many years of mediocracy this time of the year for most of us, is one of hope and genuine excitement.

If you choose to be so negative about it, then that's also your choice.

was your source both the herald sun and age writers who mentioned it in articles today that were available for reading last night?

all i heard was that he has major tickets on himself, nothing out of the ordinary.

It was being looked into that he "didnt have the desire to play at AFL level" due to his average beep test and fitness results but at the end of the day this year he improved all of his figures, 3k, beep and 400m sprint significantly

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
