Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off

NO WAY!

Trengove is Jimmy Bartel the 2nd, he just needs a good run at it.

Please do not trade him. Pick 12 FFS, maybe for Brandon Ellis.....

looks like a terrible deal on the face of things.

a pick 2 from 5 years ago AND a second round pick for pick 12?

And yet Hawks get a pick 2 for pick 19.

WTF

Dammit WYL...do you ever have anything positive to say on this forum!!!

What do you want me to say...The Club i love has been a disgrace since 2007

Roos and PJ like Harvey Kietel in "Pulp Ficttion" have been bought in to clean the place up.

You must remove emotions to be able to do it properly.

Fact: The 2009 Draft for which the club "tanked" over 2 seasons has been an absolute Failure

The players we risked the ENTIRE club over have been completely underwhelming.

Now i am sure Trenners is a Top Bloke...But he does not have the pace to be effective in the midfield

Doesn't mean i wouldn't buy him a cold beer.

wow a year ago if you said gartlett would be at melbourne and trenners wouldnt I would have said no way. Next week will be interesting. I wonder if roosy will chat to trengove this weekend. also would goodwin have an input into this?

I distinctly remember howls from supporters that Trenners deserved to be dropped for some of his awful output earlier this year. I know it ended up being injury related... but we also have to consider that he can't get back to his best following his surgery. That particular injury can be career ending. I'd love to see him get back to his best and become the player we all hoped he could be, but I can't help thinking this is part of the scar tissue (thanks to Neeld's moronic captaincy decision) that Roos is trying to excise from our list.

Yep..Feet & Hips are LOAD BEARING...This is my concern with Toump...Injuries to either of these body parts is very serious to elite athletes.

JT isn't a all out mid. He rests up forward and can take contested marks. I'm a fan of his obviously and the tigers can get stuffed.

Trengove and pIck 23 for richmonds puck 12, done deal. We can then use that in the draft a pick up a gun like Lucas Cook.

I would do this deal in a heartbeat. Picks 2/3/12 put us in an enviable position and the club obviously has something in the wings. Brett Anderson from SEN is saying the club is potentialy looking at trading out one of our other high draft picks.

I love this bold approach to improving our list. Trenners is a limited footballer. Do people want a team of favourites or a team capable of playing finals?

After Mahoney said that Richmond came to us with the deal, the idea that it's part of a mega-deal is just wishful thinking now.

think danger said he's not coming if trenners is still here

still dirty over sling tackle

lol

makes sense now

Trenners and pick 23 is surely worth more than pick 12.

Trenners alone maybe but can't see the point of throwing in 23.

Now i know for sure Roos wants Massive improvement next year.....not just a piddly 2-3 spot increment....

Paul Roos has 2 seasons to fire up this old girl...The MFC is becoming ruthless from today.....

We have not accepted deal we will think about it and maybe come up with counter offer hopefully involving a player or deal using the pick elsewhere

Elsewhere like where?

Yes, but if Richmond had heard that we needed 12 for some big deal, they might make the first move.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
