I do not know the GWS kids very well, would any of these guys be a good pick up? What would we need to do to get them?

Just occurred to me, what are the odds with all these kids leaving the Giants that the AFL prevent us from getting band 1 compo as it directly affects GWS's first pick? We all know they're a protected species at AFL House.

As Frawley compensation we get pick 3 then trade it with pick 38 & pick 88 to GWS for Jono O'Rourke & Kristian Jaksch & Sam Frost

Frawley covered and we add some class.

:- This was posted in the Frwaley thread as well

We definitely need some young key defenders, can't think of any on our list. If 2 of Dunn, Garland and Mcdonald go down we're stuffed (moreso).

Surely not.

Didnt someone mention this in a thread a while ago? (Sat next to friends or family of him, said the club was keen on him and he was keen on coming to the club?)

Would be a good get

There's plenty on O'Rourke in other threads. Some think he could be a Dom Tyson like bargain, Personally, I'm not so convinced.

Frost is similar to his brother who plays at Coll. Tall, quick athlete. Bit like Tom McDonald. Not so great as a kick. Presuming Frawley leaves it would be nice to have another mature replacement. But not overly convinced about his long term result. 3rd or 4th round pick but we'd want to have some decent small defenders with skills if we are lining up Frost and McDonald in the same team.

Yeah saw a post on here a few weeks ago saying we were keen on him and had been talking to him. If he has announced a return home then we are right in line as his destination. Assuming it doesn't cost us much then I am all for it. He was decent this year as a young KPD. Very similar to Tom Mcdonald in that he is a tall athletic defender who is good one on one but not the best kick. He actually has decent pace like Frawley, and would be a good long term replacement if the price is right. He was a rookie lister who has out performed the few high draft pick defenders at GWS and got elevated due to this and his good work ethic.

but we'll probably just trade it back to GWS anyway

Like Frost, Frawley was an atrocious kick, and unbelievably poor at ground level in his first 3 seasons and he was able to become very good at both. Frost looks balanced and I reckon his kicking will emerge ok. However, I would like to see more of him before I give a clear cut i.Anyone know if there is a video or Youtube clip available?

And....?

They discussed Sams' intent to return to Victoria. Didnt get a chance to ask who else they talked about only that Tyson Goldsack was also sniffing around for more opportunities but more likely interstate.

Goldsack sniffing around for more opportunities? What, playing 20 games in a 23 game season not enough for him.... ?

Frost has played 12 games, so still has some growing to do. I don't think GWS are going to ask the world for him, so he could be a nice acquisition at the right price. We will see if he can be packaged with another few young stars, or come to the dees via a 1-1 type swap, whether it be a player or a pick.

Hopefully he actually wants to come here, and not join Hawthorn/Collingwood like every other home sick kid!

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
