All of this reminds me of something else, but has a similar moral. Dont ask dont get

As I grew up as a spotty teenager and into early adulthood a girl that was sort of in the circles I went around in ( literally sometimes..lol ) happened to turn form a not so ugly duckling into a drop dead model. A lovely lass, not at all affected ( character wise ) by her new found popularity :) At times over a drink etc I noticed she was less happy than shed been years before. I thought that odd. The world had come to her so what was wrong. It turned out she often spent a lot more time than she preferred alone . Seems men were afraid to talk to her, to ask her out etc for surely they would be rebuffed ans surely this gorgeous woman had any number of suitors. Turns out she didnt as nearly everyone thought the same thing.

The point is ....dont assume. Dont just accept that no one wants to play for us. That no one might not be enticed. Dont automatically think another Melbourne based club would win hands down should Patty decide on a move.

And here is where i think the New Melbourne is doing it ok, they are on the front foot asking, putting it out there. Again dont ask, dont get. You just never know what the answer might be and dont always accept the first answer as fait accompli .

Yes we might get knocked back but sometimes persistence pays off.....sometimes get you called a stalker...lol

My friend gave me very good advice... Believe in yourself, it cant hurt to ask, and more than once.

Good advice beeb. I once went out with a Miss World, yes really, just had to ask. And I can assure I am no pretty boy.

Yes but Tex, Sloane and Danger are all out at the same time, I highly doubt they will be able to match the offers from different clubs for all of these players. I.e. $1M a year for Patty, $700,000 a year for Sloane and Tex.

Maybe AFC have the same accountant as the Swans.

The other aspect to this that others have touched upon and I really like, is the message it shouts. MFC open for business. We're intent on getting better; come join us ( and we'll pay the right person bucket loads and reward his prior club handsomely.

Even if we don't land Danger you can be assured either another player and/or his management will be looking on interested.

That in itself may work well for us...I.e. first in, best dressed gets the lollies.

Love trade time...it's fascinating entertainment :)

Adelaide wants to know if Dangerfield has signed his last contract with the club, and they want to know now.

But the cards are in the hands of Dangerfield - if he wants his freedom - all he has to do is endure 2015 at the Crows.

My god it will be a feral time, and he will regret a decision not to leave now if he has decided to go via Free Agency.

Keep the pressure up on the situation - if Adelaide can't get him to even verbally commit - they might try to force him out. A deal now will be 100 times better than compensation next year.

I agree, Adelaide yesterday coming out and saying point blank they will not even entertain picks 2 and 3 surprised me.

The pressure is on Adelaide here, not Dangerfield, everyone seems to think Paddy is under pressure, he isn't - he still has a year to run.

Adelaide are the club that have to make the big call, they cannot expect an answer off a bloke - when they haven't even got a coach in place.

Adelaide can't just say.. umm yeah ok...thats a sweet deal. Geebus the ferals would burn the place down and drown the club's admin in Southwark !!!

Its all pantomime :)

Imagine the Crows supporters next year if he walks for nothing, if they pass on picks 2 & 3 this year. There will be blood on the ground at AFC

Says a bloke calling him self kingdingaling!! Ha!!!

That's King Ding of Aling you're speaking to there.

The Alinglians are a very proud and noble race!

I suggest you chose your next words very wisely..

If thats the case, MFC hold onto pick 2&3... I want to see Ricciuto's blood on AAMI park!

I can see it now, they lost Goodwin pick 2 & 3...

Keep Toumpas, He's only had one full season, the other he was injured for half of it, The one I would look to offload would be Trengove, has currency as he was captain and can still play a role for them, For us I think we needed him to keep his explosiveness and unfortunately I don't believe he will regain that. Pick 2 plus Trengove could entice Adelaide, regardless of what they have said.

Im certain we wont have pick 3 but should offer a player and 2 . The crows should ask danger to sign an extension now and if its i wanna wait trade him . This will be the future for guys coming into free agency a year later , only way the clubs can win , hawks were shafted on Buddy imo .

He did say Jones should've been captain in 2012, and was ridiculed for doing so.

He might be a muppet, but I don't see thevil1 going out on a limb.

Will stand by the rest of what I've said earlier in regards to Danger but in regards to the Toump, I think I've said he is homesick. His preference is to go back home. I can still see a deal being done with the Crows with the Toump included.

I won't go on a Wines/Toumpas bashing post like others and I still think Toumpas could be a good player for us. However, if you are correct that he is homesick, it makes me think back to one of the reasons given for taking Wines over Toumpas and that was the go home factor.

Sad if that turns out to be the case.

whatt Adelaide have been talking about Dangerfield in public makes me think he'll probably move this period. AFC will have more information than anyone outside of Dangerfield's inner circle - they really don't have to be saying anything, let alone constantly fuelling the fire.

Nothings stopping them saying - "no way, no how. We think we can convince him and we're going to roll the dice on Danger and take the risk of him walking next year.

I think they might take a chance on the new coach convincing him to stay (like Roos with Watts).

And we're are they going to get a coach like Roos?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
