The arrogance of Geelong is quite amazing. When they offered 800k they must have known Adelaide was going to match it. They can surely afford more. If they can't they have managed their list very poorly considering what they have lost this year. Adelaide matching makes is very hard for him to get to Geelong. The odds are against them now, and in favour of any team that can offer a better deal. Danger won't knock back a trade that Adelaide agrees with. As long as he gets to Victoria. If he knocks it back, he's in the pre-season draft for less money. Cats must be [censored] bricks. My God, there are some Cats fans on Bigfooty that I can't wait to lay in to if he doesn't end up there. All I would say is that it's not 100% he'd end up at Geelong and the response was always, "He's not coming to Melbourne", despite the fact I never mentioned Melbourne.

I used to like Geelong.

If he goes to the pre-season draft, he can name his price. I suspect he wouldn't be lowering his price if that were the case.

The reason he wouldn't want to go PSD is that Carlscum will get him and they are on the nose more than anyone

Word on the street is that Adelaide isn't too happy with Geelong's offer and are encouraging Dangerfield to pursue Melbourne. He's suppose to be considering this option very heavily as it's in his best interest to do what is best for the Adelaide footy club.

Not to mention he'll get another 600k per year with us. He could buy a nice water front mansion in Altona and be at his folks place in 60 minutes without a single traffic light between his house and Moggs Creek

Stuff the house at Altona (nothing against Altona, very nice spot), he could buy himself a yacht and sail it to Mogs Creek. When he gets tired of sailing, he could fly his Cessna he could afford to his family home and land on a makeshift runway!

If he's not a total fool, $10m over 6 years at the Dees (where he'll be a leader at an old school club starved of success which has a talented young list where he will be a legend) should be quite compelling.

Also - he can be partners in crime with our favourite son, Bernie.

Surely he shouldn't immediately dismiss it.

But, then again, perhaps he's not that clever.

Because they can tell him to try his luck in the draft then it's hello Carlton

That's his decision to make, not theirs. Adelaide match and he stays, Geelong do a deal that's acceptable, another club do a deal that's acceptable to him & Adelaide or he nominates himself for the draft.

I doubt it will get to that and a good deal will be made, most probably with Geelong.

Let me start by prefacing this as saying I don't see us as being a chance to get Dangerdive.

But....

If Adelaide match the Cats offer and there is no chance of a deal happening, Danger could wet his pants and decide not to risk ending up in the draft and at Carlscum so rather than take his chances, elects to go with some certainty, signs with us on a 5mill, 5 year deal that has 2 mill in the first year, 750,000 for the next four years. The first years front loading ensures the crows can't match it. (Nb figures made up)

Not going to happen, but thought I would post it to give the dreamers some hope.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
