You'd think we will probably throw a figure close to $5m at him over 5 years. Something along those lines. Whether he wants to flush his chances of a flag down the toilet for a few extra bucks remains to be seen. I hope he does, but suspect he won't. Watch him go to Geelong.

If Boyd is worth $1m a year for 6 yrs what s Dangerfield worth??

Hes not the only fish.

Lets see what the ocean dishes up.

With the bizarre trading of picks (alliance?) between Adelaide and Geelong, i wouldn't be surprised if Dangerfield left as a FA to the Cattery next year, and there has been some sort of verbal agreement or something arranged around now.
Call me a conspiracvy theorist, or crazy, but just my thoughts. And at least i'm open and honest about them and they aren't in riddle form.

It's just amazing that the dogs can offer up that sort of coin for a bloke who's played a total of nine games.

These types of deals aren't new though, are they. We've had first hand experience with Scully and how has that panned out?

Boyd is a risk at $1M whereas Danger will deliver.

If Danger is going to move next season the club and all other clubs will know by the start of the new season, the general public will know once the old "I'm putting my contract talks off to the end of season" gets trotted out

Based on the thread/comments from GNF about how close we were to securing Dangerfield in a trade, could we have a Buddy Franklin to Sydney style commitment from Danger to come to us as a free agent next year?

Posted

The only chance we have of getting Danger next year, or any other decent FA for that matter, is to dramatically improve on the field.

Money isn't the only motivator for great players, success is as big a lure as anything.

Show Danger that we're going places, and I'm sure he'll jump at the opportunity to earn $8mil in 7 seasons.

If he agreed to the trade and contract Melbourne offered as GNF said, then we must be in the box seat to get him next year.

Adelaide must be confident on changing his mind, or they've just totally screwed themselves.

Tex Walker when Rory Sloane is also available? Strange. Guess he hasn't signed yet either.

Can we have both Sloane and Dangerfield please?

Yeah but the diff is its not a Melb player who is being speculated about so we can sit back and enjoy the entertainment and all the bs that comes with it.

Would love to know what Geelong are offering or could Hawks use the Buddy money?

Geelong are definitely the front runners in the race to sign Danger. He met up with Chris Scott for a 2 hour long chat on the 2nd Jan at Skilled.

That would make it a 50/50 chance between Geelong and North, wouldn't it?

Thank you everyone, you've been a great audience, try the beef I hear it's great, and don't forget to tip your waiters.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
