Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

I find it amazing posters who demand, and expect, loyalty from players - yet turn on them at the drop of a rumour, viciously so in many cases.

Truly amazing, to the extent of it being bizarre.

We're so accustomed to being royally shafted that this seems destined to end in one way, and this would top the lot for me. The accusations surrounding his condition are juvenile at best and despicable at worst, but I understand the anger behind them.

I'll say on the record that I won't judge the guy until a decision is made. He deserves benefit of the doubt. I'm just in a state of disbelief that he could even contemplate trying to walk out on this club to play elsewhere.

I really hope he thinks this through extensively, without his manager always chirping in his ear. There is a thing to be said for plainly right and wrong.

Fremantle parted with Pick 55 to get Gumbleton. Even with history of mental illness you can't tell me clubs won't pay more for Clark.

Er...that's exactly what I was telling you brfe.

If we get a pick better than 40 for him I'd be massively surprised.

Off to the Pies according to 3aw. So maybe a straight trade for Lumumba. Then we get an off field issue and a bloke who can play 22 games off half back as a replacement for an off field great bloke who has massive on field issues, I.e. Getting on the field without breaking down.

Of course I still dream of Mitch playing next to hogan and dominating for 3-4 years but recent history suggests that won't happen.

So part of Dawes reasoning in joining Melbourne was to play next to Clark. They never play together, and the minute it looks like Clark is right to play again, he buggers off to Dawes' old club?

A smart arse comment by Ross Lyon on Nine News, saying "Mitch who, what is his name". Then the reporter said "Clark" and he said "oh, he had a chance to come to us and didn't want to".

Pretty ordinary and the guy is suffering from a mental illness, by the way.

He then went on to say a number of times he still has issues. Lyon comes across as a very ordinary bloke, a money grubbing dilly.

Even if Clark has overcome his mental illness there is no guarantee that his foot injury won't re occur.

A big risk for anyone who takes him on IMO.

So Collingwood wins out of the deal. Great.

Your joking right?

Do you honestly think Richmond will give up a up and coming star who dominated in his first year who just a new two year deal for an injury prone forward who has played 15 games for 3 years?

Far out people common sense please!

Terry Wallet ain't making calls there any more

lol @ Coin Youngs reply to Ross Lyon

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-09/freo-no-to-whats-his-name-

He sounds lie a 10 year old kid.

Even worse, Young focuses entirely on the history of the failed move to Freo and castigates Lyon for not focussing in the next finals game. He said little about how absolutely inappropriate it was for Lyon to say MC was not a well young man. What a snake.

The trade period kicks off immediately after father-son bidding, which will clear up whether we have to use a second or third rounder on Stretch Jr. A trade involving Clark for Lumumba would cancel out the difficulty in working out a pick to trade for Lumumba in the event the appropriate selection has already been allocated to Stretch. I want Clark at Melbourne next year, but if we get something good for someone I figured was never coming back from the scrapheap, I won't complain.

Pretty much going on about how Mitch owes Melbourne

"Mitch Clark said yesterday he loves Melbourne, i dont think that's entirely true, i dont think Mitch Clark wants to go to Melbourne, i think Mitch Clark should be honest with Melbourne and tell them he does not want to play at Melbourne. Then everyone can move on"

What'd Slobbo say?

LOL, Youngs quote "The trade was a no-brainer and Fremantle messed up what really was impossible to do. Ross should check with his CEO and find out what really transpired that week. I’m still shocked that no one has been made accountable for the trade of a lifetime gone wrong.

The deal of a lifetime that freo missed out on is presumably the deal of a lifetime that melbourne got instead!

I can see two ways that we can benefit from this.

1. Clark goes to Collingwood in exchange for Lumumba. That's a good trade for us. Have no idea why people would think otherwise. Lumumba is a known quantity and a good footballer. Clark is (was) a good footballer but is a massive risk for them in many ways.

2. Clark sounds out other clubs, gets no bites and comes crawling back to the club Dustin Martin-style. We offer him a spot on the rookie list, he comes back in Round 1 and dominates in tandem with Hogan and Dawes. He bowes out in 2017 with Melbourne having just won the flag.

OK, I got carried away on the second point there but both possibilities are realistic.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
