  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Take off your Melbourne hat for a second. After serious depression issues you have a chance to restart your career and jump on board the SS Minnow ( where you once did a 3 hour tour) or the QE2. Which one would you take.

I agree 100% and maybe it is because of my demeanor after Sunday but if I was his medical practitioner, for his own well being I would probably advise him to stay away from us !

Maybe it ll come dowm to the offer on the table.

IMO opinion it will have nothing to do with money.

Mitch at his retirement said himself that he was feeling guilty about being highly paid and not providing a return. He would hardly sell out to the highest bidder after his previous statements.

We dont know this. A team like Carlton St kilda Bulldogs could defijitely use a player of this calibre and with Pattom off the table may throw up a good offer. He has a family to support so he would need to look at all options. A 600k offer from the Bullies or a 300k offer from the MFC. Could be a tough decision

We dont know this.

"We dont know this" - that's why I started the post with In my opinion. And yes we don't know this but all you can do is listen to how he has spoken and he seems genuine to me. My opinion is that if he chooses another team over ours - it will either be over in WA because it may be closer to his support structure - or if it is here - it will be a team that will be successful and in the finals frame as this may be better for his mental health. IMO - it will not be a money issue. I also suspect that any club that takes him on will be for minimal money but with large $ incentives (games, goals, B&F votes etc)

Noticed this morning a few boys posted photos of them training at a certain boxing gym and that's the same one mitch has been training at recently.. Not sure if there's anything in that. Might just be that him been a former melbourne player he was put onto someone or the clubs told him to head down there as part of there program for him

I certainly hope Watts was one of them...

I doubt Clark would play for another club, here is a bloke who is already doing it tough.

He'd cop heat from the public if he played elsewhere and he doesn't need that sh*t.

If he wants to just play football with no pressure, have some fun and hang with his mates, he'll be back at MFC... if he even plays again.

You would first have to accept that we are the SS Minnow.

Firstly, it might well look, sound and feel that way today but it won't always be the case.

Secondly, Mitch has always sounded like an insightful person of integrity. It might be naieve of me but I don't see him in the same class as Tom Scully.

By the same logic he could just play for Casey...most of out boys seem to prefer it there without the pressure.

If he returns could anyone see it being anywhere except Melbourne?

Unsure what his avenues of return are; is he technically still on our list?

I saw him a couple of weeks ago at the markets in Fremantle, my coffee man in the markets has seen him a few times within the last couple of months also. Most likely means nothing, he's from over here and probably enjoying visiting family, plus the coffee at the markets is probably the best in Perth...

I remember the below article at the time, he was pretty adamant on getting to Fremantle.

If u stalk his Instagram and look at his girlfriends you will see that she is at uni in Melbourne away from Mitch ATM. Also that her bridal plans are all being done from a place in Elwood, what does that all mean? Probably nothing, but interesting to note that his partner has stayed here for uni and mskybe he plans to return once he is well. Grasping at straws really, but just hoping there is a chance he returns. I think he had taken up some photography opportunities in Melbourne also

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
