6 - McDonald ( looked as if he cared, and at least broke even )

5 - Viney ( just a terrier who never stops )

4 - Riley ( had some useful clearances and showed some dash)

3 - N.Jones ( never stopped trying , but was held )

2 - Pedersen ( I'm not sure why)

1 - McKenzie ( for limiting Selwood's output)

I can not possibly understand anyone who saw that game giving Nathan Jones a vote. He played a very selfish individual game. And don't get me started on Frawley.

Most tackles. Most touches. At the bottom of every pack.

Be serious, please.

Had a job on Selwood in the first quarter but was too interested chasing his own ball. Ran himself into trouble that many times today I lost count. It was a selfish display.

Yep, Selwood had 10 touches before Jones had even blinked, and that was about mid-way through the 1st quarter. Jones never stops trying, but he was well beaten today.

6. Viney - very good in a couple of roles ...... just love his endeavour!

5. Riley - something to work with .... with a big pre-season he will be a regular in 2015

4. Howe - reasonably solid at both ends .... at least gave Geelong something to think about

3. McKenzie - seemed to play his role as a tagger

2. Pedersen - reward for effort

1. Dawes - ditto

Anyone who says anything bad against Nathan Jones actually is an imbecile. The blokes been carrying this team for 4 years now, is the heart and soul of this club and a living legend.

If him, as our key midfielder, goes and gets his own footy whilst trying to stop Selwood too is being selfish, so be it. Let him do what he wants! He is our only elite player.

He is not above criticism. He is a very good player on his day who gives his all but he was assigned a role yesterday and proved how big a gap there is between him and the elite. There is such a thing as trying too hard and trying to do too much and he showed that in spades yesterday.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
