Nothing here screams out "star".

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-sydney-swans--gary-rohan

Average of 8 disposals over 32 career games. Averaging 5 disposals in 5 games this year.

We might as well get Bennell back.

It's an opinion, it's ok to have one. Yes he was flashy and inconsistent as an 18/19 year old when he played the majority of his 32 games ...but from what I saw had some star qualities ie line breaking speed, reasonable strength, good skills and above average overhead.

As Machsy says if the injury and has affected his athleticism he comes back to the pack significantly. As it is he has done nothing this year and you would need to find out why.

If available I would put him before his medicos and test his speed and agility.

I say it's more ridiculous to judge a potential 32 game veteran who has been injured for the best part of 2 seasons from his stats alone.

All the best to Zak Jones.

Speaking of Bennell, his cousin is destroying the cats on the Gold Coast.

And is it just me, or is he rocking the "Liam Jurrah" hairstyle..?

Everyone's entitled to an opinion that's what these forums are all about. Me, I've never had a high opinion of Rohan, right from the start and to me he appears to be similar to Blease, lots of speed but not lots of possession, I'd be very disappointed if we picked him up

I saw a bit of him in the game last week and he looked out of his depth.

He may turn out to be a star but I doubt it and if he does he's got a long way to go.

Zak Jones has as much chances to be a demon just as much as Robert Warnock going to the Suns to join his brother Mat.

we probably need line breakers more than anything, I am fairly comfortable with our ability to win the inside ball going forwards with Jones, Viney, Tyson, Cross, Vince, Michie and Trengove

I'd say we still need more out-and-out mids. Clearance winnings mids at that. We're 18th for clearances. You can never have too much midfield depth, unless you're Sydney.

Harley Bennell has Liam Jurrah's hairstyle and shares his smooth fluidity that makes the sublime look easy. He was simply brilliant today.

When his brother is Nathan Jones, it should've been a simple exercise.

I know If I was in the same position, I'd of spoken to the club and made sure I found my way there.

Playing with family is important, you can bung on about draft rules, but a simple nod from a two time B & F winner would've been good enough.

Zac Jones should be in the red and blue, no two ways about it.

Well that's fine by you.

If I were Zak Jones I would've pushed as hard as I could to be drafted as high as I could. More money, more patience shown by the team who drafts you, more chance of getting an early game based on draft spot. And if I was a second round pick I'd be really keen to make myself a first round pick so I could go to one of the better clubs at the end of the first round. And if that meant Sydney I'd be absolutely ecstatic.

Don't get me wrong if Zak Jones was rated somewhere at the bottom of the top 10 picks and knew we had pick 9 then if I was him I'd be telling clubs left right and centre about my overall desire to play with my brother, how I wont go interstate and so on. But when we have picks 9 and 40 and Jones was rated in the 20's then he's made the right call pushing himself to Sydney's first round pick.

Yep and Jack Martin looks like Bennell in his first year but they rate him even higher. Once Swallow, O'Meara and Prestia master getting the ball out to Martin and Bennell other midfields should give up and Ablett can sit in the forward pocket. If needed he can sneak back in to the middle and break the game open again.

Scary midfield. 3 huge forwards. 3 classy left footers off half back (KK, McKenzie, Harbrow).

Exactly...He's a moron and always has been. Do what I do mate... & turn off when he is on.

He doesn't like Melbourne either...clear as day when he comments.

Carey is an arrogant tool of the highest order and I can't stand him.

NORF will never accept him back in the fold after his exit over there...and so they shouldn't.

I know this will be unpopular but having met Wayne a number of times through work I found him to be a good bloke. I was quite surprised the first time I met him after reading all the bad press and seeing him on the tele.

Unfortunately I've met some so called Melbourne champs, one in particular who were absolute .....arrogant would be a starting point.

Wayne Carey once made a trip to our school in Tasmania. Didn't stop signing autographs until every last person had one. A top bloke

My nephew was a shy, chubby little guy who was being bullied at his school. A teacher at his school was somehow involved with the NMFC and Wayne Carey rocked up at my nephews school, talked to him about ignoring bullies and getting on with life, kicked the footy around with him for a bit and invited him to the rooms after the next North game. Wayne Carey wrote to my nephew for a number of years after that just to see how he was getting on. Whilst some of the things he has done over the years were not great, this small gesture changed my nephews life. My nephew is still a North supporter and now 6ft 4" and built like a tank. He is still a bit shy and on the sensitive side but didn't go off the rails like some poor kids who get bullied.

I have always thought Wayne Carey like most people, has some good in him.

If anyone has read the Wayne Carey book you will all realize what a complete Fwit and a psyco his Dad was.. it really is shocking and horrible the way he was brought up by his dad.

He never had the guidance in his life and I believe he is turning his life around which apparently is going pretty positively.

It also doesn't help when you are the star of a football club or better still the competition, are pampered beyond belief , have no guidance and believe because of it you can do no wrong.

Good luck to him.

Rohan was sub last week and came on for about a quarter; he failed to get a possession.

Not sure why everyone on here wants us to put in a bid for him.

If you saw the game last night you would be.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
