I'm just about done with the AFL. It's an an insult to our sport. What a disgrace

Posted

Evey club will throw in cash to take this higher. Fight for our bloody game (and our chances against the doggies)

Posted

Those F*****ers on the tribunal have to show they are 'consistent'. They are protecting their other crap decisions.

This is a lot worse than the others though.

What a joke, the AFL IS FINISHED I won't be attending anymore games if I can't watch players compete against each other at 100%, I no longer care

Posted

Games [censored], ran by [censored] wankers who have no [censored] idea. They worry about fans not turning up, this will send more away, I'm preferring NFL and NRL so I can see some decent contests.

Gill will need to rebuild this competition.

This game is a joke! Softest sport in the country.

Feel sick in the stomach already.

So, to summarise, the jury has answered the following questions:

1. Did Viney bump? Yes (this point should be appealed)
2. Did that cause forceful contact? Yes (no challenge here)
3. Was he contesting the ball? Yes (surely they didn't answer this 'no'; relevance of this question is unknown)
4. Did he have a reasonable alternative? No (this MUST be appealed)
5. Was the bump cause by circumstances outside his control? No (this point should be appealed)

It was a get up for gigs.

Never did they intend to let him go.

Posted

How can he get 3-4 weeks when it was line-ball he'd get off?

It wasn't even a bump!

Posted

So they've regarded it as an intentional bump rather than bracing for impact for an unavoidable collision. The jury obviously thought the same thing as Gleeson - that Viney could have avoided it.

It looks like now any time there's any sort of collision, if someone gets hurt, the other person will be getting weeks. What a ridiculous precedent to set.

Don't bother attacking the footy, you might have a collision with someone and they might get hurt. It's too dangerous.

the AFL killed the career of Jack Trengove

This will do the same to VIney

I hope Viney sues them

I am disgusted

We've seen Gillon oversee the tanking issue and now this? How's he doing do you reckon?

Posted

I blame the Matrix for creating unrealistic expectations of what is humanly possible.

Posted

Nathan Schmook:

Gleeson says they could impose a penalty between 1-3 weeks taking in all of the factors of this case.

Posted

An absolute joke!

They haven't said how many weeks suspension yet have they?

Appeal this all the friggin way. Disgusting.

I think Mark Evans has the perogative of challenging a 'clanger' decision but not sure if this is just those at the MRP or also applies to those at the Tribunal

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
