Thing about Scally what happens when he's contacted up there isno way the gws will want to pay him a million plus or even half a million he will need to take a huge pay cut.

And I still can't work out why GWS payed such massive overs for such an underwhelming player as Scully.

I think you'll find this has been discussed at depth in various other Demonland threads with the majority view being that Tom was the set of steak knives thrown in at the last minute to get the Phil Scully deal over the line.

Evidently he was right to ask that.

I can. I reckon his signing was a symbol, more than anything. It showed that GWS could get anyone they wanted, even if he was a highly valued number one draft pick. You've got to remember that the truth was rather different - no one wanted to go to GWS.

And that first video above, the one against Freo. Wow. We moved the ball beautifully from half back. I wish we'd simply readjusted our defensive structures under a new coach, rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water and removed the attacking flair. Ah well.

Spot on, CB. You can just see his confidence there. I can't remember him having that, but it shows he had it once upon a time. The handball one-twos, really great stuff. I reckon it'd be worth showing Jack some of that.

The debate continues to rage but irrespective of how poor Naitanui's form has been recently, he does have that ability to quickly turn a game that I haven't seen yet from Jack Watts. Otherwise, both would be regarded as disappointing under-achievers given their high draft positions and that will remain the case as long as we have drafts. Just look at Whitfield, O'Rourke, Plowman and Toumpas from a couple of years ago - although we should still be prepared to give them some time.

Scully is the one who really has managed to escape scrutiny. Given his pay packet, I find it extraordinary that anyone can talk up his performance against Gold Coast. Firstly, you don't pay a million bucks plus a year for a tagger, let alone one whose opponent kicks two goals, gets 30 disposals and lays eleven tackles in a 40 point win while getting only 6 kicks and 10 handballs himself. I put that down as a massive fail when compared to Ablett's 19 disposals against Jordie McKenzie (with some help) up on the Coast last year.

The million dollar man should be under the microscope because every week there are teammates out there who are paid far less but contributing far more to their team's effort than Scully and how he's managed two top 5 b & f's in his two years at that club is quite frankly , a complete joke.

Any semi-competently run sporting club around the world would have at the very least been playing finals after all these picks. We've just been scarred by complete drafting and development failure.

Any semi-competently run sporting club around the world would have at the very least been playing finals after all these picks. We've just been scarred by complete drafting and development failure.

That [censored] Dwayne Russell just said that there will again be speculation that NN is carrying an injury this week, after another lean second half. I know DR hates MFC, but his views are endemic of the footy media. If NN struggles, it's because of injury. If Watts is struggling, he should be dropped.
