I hope GWS cop beltings like that all year.

Hopefully some players want out.

Shiel has that physicality that we need.

If they offered up Toby Greene, I wouldn't take him.

Ordinary today.

Now there's an insightful comment if ever I've seen one KDA. I doubt that any Demonlander would disagree with you today, although plenty may have on Sunday morning.

Yep, could care less about how bad the floggings against them are. Rubbish team holding some genuine talent hostage, and serves the AFL right for compromising the draft for so many years.

The more floggings they receive, the better our chances of landing their best players. I'd say anyone they haven't convinced to re-sign yet is looking for a ticket home (Patton, Shiel, Treloar?). I note they wasted no time locking Kelly away on a 4 year contract literally the day after his first game (think they won against StK?), knowing he'd be optimistic about the team's direction. They've been going backwards ever since.

Why do I think GWS would be handed a further priority pick in a heartbeat?

i wouldnt feel ripped off.

unknown 19 yo.

Pr the master of trade week.

looking at our past,id imagine more people would watch the player shipped out, rather than the player shipped in.

and of course we would have the stats gurus comparing on a weekly basis.

but as PR keeps saying, you have to give something to get something YOU want.

Your right, however we would get more than just zac clark for a top 4 pick player.

e.g. pr work in last years draft pick 2 for tyson and pick 9

I certainly wouldn't want to target this man!

Saw this on Twitter.. Worth a laugh I would of thought!

@TitusOReily: This is interesting: Fremantle release Colin Sylvia's heat map for 2014. http://t.co/kn8wOCcqON

@TitusOReily you may have got us with him, but, we didn't pay Mitch Clarke $42k a game for all 13 he played for you...

I would go hard after Sam Reid, may feel he is slipping down the pecking order at Sydney and with the Roos factor it would seem plausible that we could get the deal done.

Thoughts? What is he worth?

I also agree that Zac Clark would be a good target or Tom Nichols from GC.

I see Sydney have had to Freeze player contracts that finish at the end of the year due to see what happens with COLA..

work your magic Roosy.

Watched Swans tonight. Agree 100% that Luke Parker would be a massive get. Tough, skilled, intense.

Agree Harry Cunningham is more likely. A rookie upgrade who will be tempted by a 3-yr $150,000 contract at the Dees, and regular game time. Tough, mid-defender type, who can shutdown but also get possies, and also kicks a nice goal. Down the order at Sydney's strong mid group.

He's not that far down the order, getting games ahead of Mitchell. But he doesn't get a lot of the ball yet, ordinary tonight.

Getting games ahead of Rohan really. Swans know they'll need speed to beat the top teams in September especially with a bit of a lumbering forward line. Hence with some more one paced guys like Bird, Kennedy and Parker in the side they like to counter with Cunningham instead of Mitchell or O'Keefe. I like Cunningham but not enough to go hard for him, I don't think he's a significant upgrade over what we have.

But in other news.

Jarred Lyons the guy we targetted at Adelaide along side Bernie Vince but was contracted and willing to say at Adelaide just had 34 disposals and 3 goals. Can't crack the crows team for a game (that might change now) but I'm sure we are still watching him closely and every game he plays well in the SANFL without cracking it for a spot in the senior side is an opportunity to be in his ear. He's the speedy and skillful half forward type we still need to replace Byrnes and push the likes of Salem, Kennedy-Harris, Bail and Kent.

In more surprising news big Juice Newton kicked 8! From 10 marks and 12 touches. He's only 27. Very much a one trick pony full forward but considering Clark is gone and the expectations on Hogan are rightfully subdued back injury or no back injury there'd be crazier things in this world than to re rookie the Juice. I love to see what Roos could do with him. Maybe a Jay Schulz turn around?

You'll have to take that game with a grain of salt. After all, Juice kicked a lazy 8.1 for the redlegs.

That's how I see him at the moment, it all depends on how much upside he has. He has some raw tools, I'm sure Roos and the boys will be across this.

There's gotta be something wrong with Lyons, if he's not getting a game with Adelaide after they had all their draft picks pinched (thereby significantly lessening their depth).

I will honestly deliberately harm myself if we get Newton back. One of the worst demons of all time

I miss Juice. Not many players have been discussed so heavily on Demonland. Went from cult hero who couldn't crack a game to whipping boy who just kept surviving on the list year after year. Good times.

Maybe we should start a campaign #BringBackJuice

andrew moore should be a huge target for every victorian-based club,

having a starring season for the port adelaide magpies, in the best three or four times out of the first seven rounds, but can't get a look in with the power at this stage. strong, bid-bodied and with a big kick, he fits the roos' prototype. the one knock on him is defensive intensity, but i'm sure that can be taught.

he actually WAS a big melbourne fan as a kid into the bargain.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
