Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jesse Hogan Injury Update?

Next year is the end of the two year contract.

If he gets through to end of next year without a contract he can go into the draft and the bottom team has first crack at him. That simple.

So if he wants out at the end of next year and specifically wants Freo or the Eagles.

1. They have to finish bottom to guarantee that he can walk out on us and to them.

2. They can finish anywhere else and Hogan can walk and do a Luke Ball - any other team drafts me i wont play for them - unlikely.

3. We participate in a trade to get him to Freo or the Eagles.

Those are his options.

I am still amazed that this ever happened. Clearly not how the system was designed to function and there are no repercussions.

I fecking hate how young players these days sook it up and demand where they will or won't play. If they won't sign and demand to go to a specific team they should be deregistered from all sanctioned AFL competitions for 12 months.

I agree with this it is a joke and needs to be stamped out.

Dom Tyson ring a bell?

In fairness, we'd all be ecstatic if the plethora of exciting young talent did everything in their power to leave GWS. Maybe not a great comparison given how destructive expansion clubs have been for the league overall, but you get the gist.

Not sure if Dom stood there stamping his feet with his bat and ball packed up ready to go home.

The exodus from Brisbane was revolting. Josh Caddy etc...

If you're drafted out of your home state you should not be able to hold your club to ransom by wanting to go home. SA and WA clubs have a massive advantage in this respect.

Chill! Making a mountain out of a molehill. Players are not that precious.

Chook, it's fair to say I was being sarcastic. Would italics help? Or just better wording?

You provide some value with your training reports, but my god, these comments make me cringe.

Not only that, but it basically means no MFC player would offer any nuggets of information, without first censoring themselves. This renders a lot of what is relayed to us as redundant.

Why, they do know they have supporters, and they do know there are fan forums, and they know I post on here, so they use me to answer questions for the supporters out there, Jesse knows every supporter wants him on the field and he actually appreciates the support

Thanks, Jesus. You're a real conduit.

I think you and Machsy really do need to revisit that specialist about those feelings of inadequacy you both keep getting, as I have said many times before, don't read my posts, it won't make me tear-up, I have stopped reading both of yours unless there is something like the above which needs clarifying

Not trying to make you tear up, but there's a palpable sense of self-importance there, and it makes you say silly things.

Why you feel the need to tell the kid he has "30 pages of nervous posters" rattling about his health, is beyond me.

I don't think the kid is ignorant, but I also don't think he needs to hear this stuff from a fanboy hanging over the fence.

It's just weird.

I am not quite sure which bit you don't get, perhaps it's your comprehension skills, I'll try again,

"I jokingly said to Jesse there were 30 pages of nervousness", he appreciated it.......got it now

I was enquiring about his health so I could post for the benefit of the many interstate and overseas posters/readers on here who appreciate that sort of thing, not for you or the other ne'erdowells whose sole purpose is not to add anything to a topic apart from spitting vitriol at certain posters

Would you like me to ask him how he is going again this morning?

I don't hang over the fence by the way, I lean nonchalantly against one of the many fine Australian native trees surrounding the training track

Again I'll repeat, don't read my posts, they seem to cause you extreme distress, perhaps there is also some latent masochism being displayed, methinks you take yourself way too seriously, I certainly don't.............you need to have a word with 'hardtack' or 'RGRS' they have successfully completed understanding Saty 101

Perth is one of the world's most geographically isolated cities and some might like it that way.

When I was young I headed for the bright lights and the big city.

Perth would not have cut it.

Some of the guys from SA and WA are happy to be in Vic and NSW.

It's just not in their financial interest to say this out loud.

And Saty. I too enjoy your training reports.

Leaning against a gum tree is quintessentially Australian.

Yes the posts are informative. I do enjoy them.

I dont like the thought that someone may be representing me (as part of Demonland) however the mood strikes them, to the club and its players.

I accept my view may be churlish.

I accept that this post is probably the most reasoned in the thread.

Don't worry Franky, when Jesse sees you walking down the road he won't recognize you as a Demonland poster - and one of the better ones at that!

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
