Can someone convince me that this game doesn't start in 15 minutes?

AFL website says 5:40 AEDT

It was confusing me for a while as I am overseas (as you can see with my earlier post!). But I believe it starts 5.40 Alice Springs time, which is 1.5 hours behind Melbourne. Never knew that until today.

OK - think its a mistake on the website - it clearly says AEDT, but a 7:10pm starting time for the Eastern audience would make sense.

Would love to see games like this in the season. Stuff trying to slow it down to ease congestion lets make it like ice hockey and get players going full bore and screaming up and down the field.

theres more space on a hockey field per man than we have, except its much smaller on an ice hockey rink... & their quicker on Ice, skates. of course.

benny would have been pretty nimble.

Dees have had heaps of coverage locally. The town is pumping at the moment. My wife just witnessed a flock of people from Nyirrpi (who wear our colours and are Melbourne FC through and through) walking toward the ground covered in red and blue (hair included). Going to be a huge night for us loyal local supporters if we can snare a win.

Outs: Frawley, Jetta, Hunt

OMG --- some here will read into that snippet of information as definite proof not going to sign a contract with us :-(((

The one and only positive about being asked to de-board the plane in Dubai, and wait four hours to see if they can fix the door......the Demons clash. Go dees

So after Jetstar stuffed around us around on a flight recently I discovered that deplane is actually a word. Therefore you can save a lot of time saying you had to deplane instead of deboard a plane.

Anyway. No Frawley, no Garland. Great opportunity for Tommy Mc, Dunn and Georgiou.

Cats playing Hawkins, Walker and 3 rucks (McIntosh, Simpson and Blicavs) so some guys are going to have to play above their height.

I'd start Georgiou on a ruckman to see how effective he can be playing on a guy who's got quite a few inches on him. And then probably swap him on to Hawkins for a bit to see if he has the skills to take on one of the better key forwards in the league.

We have a pretty good cheer squad behind the goals. No such thing for the catters. Good crowd building, we take our time here in the NT.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
