The thing i have been really impressed with is that we haven't allowed them to put more than a couple of goals on, seem to be able to stop the run on's which has been a huge problem for us

Still about a zillion miles for us to go yet, but definitely some great progress already. All I want for Chistmas is a trio of big forwards. I wonder where we'll find them...

Ball movement, vision and quick hands. Love it!!

Howie needs to stay around goals all year!

Alexis Georgiou sure knows how to take a mark. He really makes great body position whenever he finds himself in that kind of contested marking situation

Howe, Terlich and Dunn to become genuine guns this year

Fark me. Is this the same side as last year with a few newbies. Loving the combative style of football. Can't wait to sign my 6 week old up for a MFC membership on sunday

All I can say is what a vastly different side this is to last year.

Grand canyon like.

Bring on the home and away.

Steady! At this point I'd settle for them to become good ordinary footballers. Each one of them has some serious flaws in their game.

We just don't look fragile. When we do good things, it doesn't feel like it is one person doing one thing good, sometimes followed by another if we're lucky. It actually feels like we mean to be doing what we're doing.

No, it's not the same side as last year. We have some of our better oldies out as well as a couple of good newbies. It's only ½ a game but our endeavour and application have been very good. I think we'll be improvers this year.

A different one to you apparently. Watched him take several hits and bounce back up.

What about when Houli

A different one to you apparently. Watched him take several hits and bounce back up.

What about when B Houli dropped his shoulder the guy [censored] his dacks you have simply no have no idea and personally I think he just lost his trust in the first 1 hour of the season.

This will be the really interesting qtr coming up

I think we're seeing that now. Bring up the confidence a bit, and the atrocious play we see so often will stat to disappear.

I am amazed at the improvement here. A few of the new guys are killing it, we're seeing run and effort from guys who normally coast, we're seeing tough play from guys who were known to be soft. I can feel my hopes rising for the season, especially when we add some genuine key forwards at the pointy end so Howe isn't carrying the whole load.

Nicholsons soft and he won't score a game under Roos.

Seriously bud if you want to see someone soft go and have a look in the mirror FFS keyboard warrior if ever I saw one. His skills you can fault but never question Nicho's endeavour.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
