Blease and Tappy on the table ...

Would not be keen on seeing them leave.

They both have something we need. Blease with his electric pace and Tappscott being as hard as nails. Both have had less than adequate coaching and development IMO and I believe they will flourish under Roos if given the opportunity.

Agree... in a well drilled team, Blease could be a very dangerous player.

There's nothing wrong with seeing if they can help get a tight deal over the line. Blease has kicked 5 goals in a game and with his attributes may get a nibble. Tapscott isn't a great runner and isn't a mid. I don't see much future for him.

They're both contracted, so no big deal floating them around.

Is this a joke?

Parker spent a vast majority of the 2nd half of the year up forward did he not? & so did Tappy this year.. They are the similar height, same weight.. Parker isn't exactly quick. He might have a bigger engine.. But that can be improved over a good pre season.. I don't think its too farfetched to compare the two.

Not to worried with Tapscott going but thought Blease has potential to be a pretty good player with the right coaching. Has great pace and knows where the sticks are just needs to build a tank and learn to run deep both ways.

Agreed. Tapscott yes. Blease no.

We picked up Matt Jones, Terlich and Clisby with mid, late and rookie picks respectively and they played as many if not more good games in one season than Blease and Tapscott ever have.

That said this draft is apparently very shallow and picks higher than 40 might not be worth anything. Sometimes it's better to have Tapscott and Blease for one year to see what they can do than 2 years of a draft pick that wont make it and wont contribute any pressure on the best 22.

I'd be open to here what other clubs have any interest in a player for player swap particularly for a true midfielder or true goal kicking or pressure small forward. Could we send Tapscott to the Tigers where Hardwick likes solid body players and get Nahas in return. Not that I particularly rate Nahas at all but if Tapscott offers little maybe it's better to take a guy who at least can kick a goal.

I'd also listen for pick upgrade trades ie pick 45 for Tapscott and pick 50 that get us back in as early as possible in the draft.

Considering we still have plenty more like Magner, Jetta, Nicholson and Bail to potentially move on we don't want a bunch of useless draft picks in all of their places.

Could their value get any lower than it is right now? I'm not against trading them, but continually trading away players when their value is at its lowest just continues the cycle.

Agreed - We don't seem to be to interested in the Free Agency and the draft depth isnt very strong either so its not like we have a whole lot of players we can bring in.

Blease has some potential at least. (We would not get anything worthwhile either).

I think it's more a case of free agents (or at least their managers) having no interest in us.

Makes me sick to read of all these players looking to go to Carlton and not one mention of a player looking to come here. Brings back to the surface those feelings of anger, bordering on hatred, towards those who have put the club in this position.

I love trade time, all the build up and then the long 3 weeks. So today we are trading Blease, Tapscott and Jamar. In theory I have no issues with any of these three being traded as long as the trade works for the club. Kent went past Blease and Tapscott in his first year, you can't have small forwards that can't spend time in our midfield.

Do you think a new coach might put certain players on the 'trade table' with no intentions of trading them.. With the intention to click them into gear and hopefully ignite the drive to become much better players than they currently are?

This is what I'm hoping for.. We need both of these guys to lift their output dramatically.. I hope Paul can get this out of them..

Agree pick upgrade is an option.

In my dreams 2 + Blease or 2 + Tapscott with the right club might just get a deal over the line.

While 2 + N.Jones and 2 + Garland is not on and 2 + Jetta or 2 + Bail is a worse offer than just 2.

we should be the ones developing them.. Can we just all sit back and relax. Let Roo's get in between there ears and see if he can make them footballers.

If not move them on.. At least give the talent they have a year under him please??

I hereby declare I am a [censored]...having made that clear. Unless you are a perennial long term underperformer ( Sylvia, Jamar) I would like to see what Roos and co can do with the newer underperformers - if Tapscott and Blease have no value at all then what is the cost of seeing if they can improve significantly for a year. The only disclaimer is if Roos has met them and sensed attitude problems that wont get fixed ( think Gysberts)

Edit - I want to see next year as a clean slate - for example - Jack Watts - you have been in a horrible system for 5 years and played all over the shop. We are starting new this year with a new coach and structure. I will judge you on 2014 onwards.

I remember the time you changed your avatar after being accused of 'waffling on'.

Now that you're declaring yourself a [censored].....

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
