Too early to start a "Sack Dew" thread?

No, just go and start it on a Swans forum.

I'd almost prefer Dew to stay at Sydney for next year, we'd then be more likely to have Roos for 3 years as opposed to 2. Ain't nothing wrong with that!!!!

Must admit that this was the thought that came to my mind aswell

is Danny Frawley an idiot?

Coaches can leave if they are beingpoffered a prmotion, and Dew is being offered the senior coaching position at the MFC after a couple of years under Roos

Also, why do we think Dew is good enough to be the long term coach of the MFC? Roos has not seen him coach, has never sat next to him in the box.

It is fraught with danger.

Well lucky for us that Danny is looking after our best interests.

The answer to question 1 is yes.

And question 2, not quite sure what point you are trying to prove. Do you think those in power at West Coast watched Adam Simpson coach, or most other senior coach appointments for that matter. They just have to interview, gather as much info as they can, and make the best decision they can.

This whole successor thing is rubbish.

But if it did the job in landing Roos then it's fine by me.

Why so?

If Roos is not to be in the job in 3 years' time, would you not prefer that the coach that succeeds him has done an apprenticeship under him?

I think it's a good option, considering Roos doesn't want to be coach himself.

Because there's too much guess work. We know that some coaches are great assistants but [censored] poor senior coaches. And it also eliminates excellent potential candidates that may be worth considering in a year or two.

It sounds great in theory, but has structural weaknesses that could be avoided.

I accept that it got Roos, so it's been a brilliant concept, but I see major flaws.

It's different, I will give them that...

It gives a running head start to a prospective coach and allows them to learn of one of the best while being assured of their position.

And 'the Assistant Coach flavor of the month' wears thin with me. So as long as they pass TimD's EQ testing and Roos thinks they know footy - bring him in 3 years early.

Maybe we can develop some people for once.

Dew is coming out of the Sydney system, but also experienced the hawthorn ie Clarkson way of doing business.

Roos would have some interaction with Dew's coaching from his until recent involvement with the swans academy so its not a blind guess. We have not also targeted the next flavour of the month, ie tudor/burns/sumich who just missed out of senior jobs etc.

If you notice how Jackson and now Roos operated seems very planned and methodical.

If they believe Dew is the one, we'll know for sure over the next 2/3 years as they can change their mind. But with the right development we can have a great coach as a successor..

Melbourne declare its hand. Dees want Dew as successor

Offer on table but dew yet to accept is the official line from Sydney. You would have to think Roos has been in deep discussion with Stu and that the club wouldnt have tabled an offer otherwise.

Now it gets fun.. Lets play hardball. Lets remind Colless et al that they don't get everything their way.

Go Dees

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
