Can we send back the rest of the MFC team to Casey as most of them can't play AFL footy anyway so they will not be missed. May be they could win a few games as well. That would be good for their confidence.

I actually feel for him as I'm sure he would loved to have been involved in a finals tilt in his first VFL season - particularly considering that Casey's position is in no small part due to his contribution on the field... so, not good in my opinion.

Jesse Hogan us out 4-6 weeks with the knee injury he sustained on the weekend against Bendigo Gold. His next game will be for the Demons in round 1, 2014.

Something about bone bruising?

I think it's disappointing, personally. It's good that he'll be fit for pre-season, but he has been a huge part of Casey's form this year and I reckon he'd have wanted to finish the job he started. Not the end of the world, just a bit of a bummer I think.

Disappointing for Jesse and for Casey. But good news that he'll be right for preseason.

Although by my count the VFL grand final is not for 5 weeks. If the guys beat Box Hill this week they will likely head in to finals in second place with momentum. Do we want to give up on it so easy?

He's ok to play VFL Finals but they won't risk him.

And no should they.

If he was fit I'd be all for him playing, because it's great experience and he would signficantly help the cause of winning a premiership.

However, his body is young and still developing and we should take absolutely no risk with somebody so important. The significance of him doing a full pre season can't be underestimated.

I would think that if his body is up to it, he probably will play 23 games next year and every season after that.

26 including finals ..

You're assuming we get a double chance...even the greatest optimist would reckon our 1988-like run into the GF would come from the bottom four, giving us 27 matches.

list management and crappy red'n'blue-print is part of the faulty culture that got us into this shytey position

let's not turn him into another jw

Not sure what you guys are talking about...

After our week off in finals courtesy of our win over the Hawks, we'll have played 25 games at the end of next year...

Disappointing as he deserved to share in Casey's finals tilt as he has been a massive reason for it. However once he hurt his knee the most important thing for him and club was to ensure he is cherry ripe physically and mentally for day 1 of pre-season.

That's bad news, but not horrible for Casey. They'd love to have him, but they'll have Fitz, Gawn and Spencer out there, so their forward line still looks pretty scary.

does Fitz qualify does he? I hope so.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
