Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I like the fact that we have a board containing both old and new blood that allows for the transition into the future. I trust that with the addition of one or two more good people we can move on to the pressing matters that need to be dealt with, most particularly the appointment of the coach.

I suspect that we're also going to see a lot of change both on and off the field. It's going to be fascinating and I suspect there's going to be controversy - hopefully in a positive way.

We can only hope Jack!, I'm guessing there would be some very nervous players and assistant coaches at the moment! (and so they bloody well should be).

Fantastic to see a positive report from the club

Really liked the football history he brings knowing this can translate into the passion for the dees many see as critical.

Seems he has the ability to engage and involve in all club aspects and may have some ideas about culture.

Particularly liked the reference

"Glen also has significant experience in advising government and corporations with respect to outsourcing, insourcing and associated implications under the Fair Work Act 2009.

Glen provides tailored and general client training courses regarding Managing Employees' Performance and Conduct; Investigator Officer training and Enterprise Bargaining training."

these would seem magnificent skill sets for our current situation.

Hopefully he can utilise his skills in overseeing the correct coach player alignment and in ensuring trading and recruiting are conducted in an effective and efficient fashion to see a return on investment. Performance match payments.

with training and performance experience he may have a greater nsight into the clubs development issues than many others or be able to outsource or insource appropriate skills

Another dawn lets hope we can see some evidence of success

It shouldn't be one or the other. A bloke may love the club but before he puts himself up for the board he should be asking himself, 'Will I do this position justice? Am I qualified? Does my skill set gell with the others on the board?' If the answer is no and you run anyway, it's not because you love the club, it's because you are self-indulgent.

Haha, I like...

Further incentives:

A finals win = 75k per win

A GF win = double or nothing ;)

To be honest Ron, I don't want to get into p***ing contests about who and who doesn't love the club. IF (capitals intentional) he pulls us out of this mess, he can go back to supporting whoever he bloody likes!

He seems to be a good appointment, but I don't love the fact that he's only supported the club for the last three years.

I have read he was a lifelong MFC supporter.

Not that it matters when you are a Foundation Hero.

That is Level 9000 Demons Supporter.

funny I had read that and was surprised to note this 3 year-ish affair.

In the end doesnt matter. He can be a born again Demon for all I care if his heart is in the right place and his soul is sold to the devil :)

I cannot believe any of you would actually believe that the President would not be a Demon.

He has been a lifelong fan and more recently a Foundation Hero.

He is a Demon.

As if we would give the reins to any AFL lackey.

Your Board has to be full of loyal Demons. That way Jackson can be as ruthless as we want him to be.

With the emphasis on 'we.'

Actually he has only been a melbourne supporter for 4 years. But he obviously knows what he is doing and its a massive job to take on. I wish him all the best.

Sorry if this has been answered but dont the members actually vote for a board and president?

If we did that we would have a challenge every three years.

Others would be more aware of the constitution but I expect that there will be a simple ratification of the board at the coming AGM. It's not democratic but democracy doesn't work when it comes to footy clubs.

The AFL would know what a good board looks like more than the rank and file members of the Demons.

He was a bit hesitant at first but got in to it after a while and I thought he was most impressive; he wants success and a flag not just some competitive quarters.

This will come as a shock to some of the players and some of the more conservative members but is clearly what we, the supporters, want and I think back to Ben-Hurs thread a few years ago about the only reason for a football club's existence.

Pet hate. "Somethink". Outside of that and early nerves, he spoke quite well.

You would've thought a lawyer would know the difference between a k and g but anyway. Maybe you can take the full back from Perth out of Perth but you can take the Perth out of him.

I also doubt his future as a stand up comic, not sure all the jokes hit the target.

But I do like his straight forward approach and willingness to admit to failures. Let's see what specific plans the board can come up with next.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
