Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Makes a lie of the claims that the AFL are always picking on MFC.

Its actually all this is coming out and not being swept under the carpet.

And its even better that its a club other than MFC.

This was Essendon being transparent and requesting the AFL investigate. The club is the reason this isn't being swept under the rug, not the AFL. I'm not suggesting that the AFL would, just saying that in this case the transparency is coming from the club, not the AFL.

It's not like the AFL found evidence and then demanded Essendon comment on it.

Edit: Of course it could all just be damage control and they are trying to appear transparent.

By the reports the AFL got involved at the request of Essendon management (if you believe it)

Mind you they may have just been trying to get in first because it was about to break

pft, that presser was the most obvious attempt at getting on the front foot because you know youre about to be cooked - exactly like adelaide did with the cap issue

If the players took supplements and signed documents with the full knowledge that they were sailing close to the wind, they should cop whatever penalties they are given if there are any at all. I'm not saying they are guilty but if they were aware of what they were doing they don't have much of a defence.

This is a bit more serious than fumbling the ball, or not playing a 17 year old, skinny recruit.

I wonder if Warnie's mum supplied the supplements?

I think you may be on the money there. Apparently this story has been hanging around for the last month with the players and not the club raising concerns.

What I'm going to say is completely unfounded and biased, but I believe he didn't know. He seems to me to be an ethical kind of guy. Just my opinion.

surely he would have to plead either stupidity, or incompetence if this actually happened and he did not know. Either way not exactly a golden mark on his résumé. Edited by monoccular

Indeed.

Fairfax is crediting their own 'requests for information' for providing the catalyst for this investigation.

Good point. If the allegations were true he either knew and did nothing or didn't know and is incompetent.

Very ethical holding secret meetings in the Presidents office to get rid of Knights and take over his job, then denying everything.

Just listening to SEN and they are saying about suppliments taken in pre season 2012

This explains why they were so good in the first half of the season then dropped off in the 2nd half

They were the same in 2011 too, up and about early - I recall the NAB Cup clash at Etihad. Not that there's anything wrong with that.....?

Both seasons resulted in a gradual increase in injury list (soft tissue).

Anyway, I call for investigator commandos to interview everyone and anyone - twice, in some cases three times. Interrogate, intimidate are the current tactics as I understand.

Time to unleash Caroline to find out what is going on. And let her give a piece of her mind. Fair is fair in the land of AFL....apparently.

Age Football writer Waroline Cilson is about to release the following:

"Essendon have been inadvertently caught up in the scandalous ongoing Melbourne tanking scandal - Cameron Schwab is said to have, according to reliable sources, secretly encouraged the novice Bomber coach to force his players to experiment with body building drugs. In further breaking news Schwab has also been implicated, according to other reliable sources, in masterminding the shocking European Football (Soccer) match fixing scandal, based on his well known success in systematic match fixing at the MFC. Further investigations are underway on suspicion that he may also be part of the Elvis mystery, and the Kennedy assassination, according to sources."

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
