Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

I am so anry that any AFL would have a drug program of this nature.

Bases on the Facts I heard and Read so far is Messendon and it Corupt Team Official get off these charges on a Technicality the MFC should refuse to play them.

We may have a crap team but we must maintain our integrity and send a message the MFC is against Drugs in Sport,

The Hird Reich must be STOPPED!

Posted

Frog we have been refusing to play footy for years...

LOL

I mean this time don;t even show up at the ground.

We can all go to the local pub instead.

We already did that retrospectively in round 2 this year.

That was just a test run for later on.

Is the poster who you were responding to not one of those "feckless goons"?

No

What is that link about? Take your politics and [censored] off to another thread please.

Hird apparently was receiving advice from a PR person previously associated with the Liberal party and the technique was deny all and then attack / discredit those that offer negative evidence or testimony.

I think the saddest thing is listening to the radio today and hearing parents ring up saying there children are being called drug cheats and getting picked on at school and the kids saying i dont want to go to the footy anymore. Its a bit low when children are being called drug cheats when its the team they support.

Schools have footy days coming up and kids dont want to wear there essendon jumpers or are worried about wearing them.

Anyway the golden boy is speaking at 11:30 today where he will say everything will be cleared and we will be fine.

11.30 presser with the drug lord.

Bet he steps aside for the remainder of 2013.

Yeah. We might lose but at least we do it legally!

yep , we have honorable losses down pat !!

It appears Hird has given himself an exit strategy to give himself a soft landing and walk away without blame if he is forced out. In his writ he claims this course of action will affect his abilty to coach. I suggest he does not waste anymore time and just do it.

Legal advice to players suggests they would have little problem voiding contracts, and could enter the draft without Essendon receiving compensation

Get ready for the deepest draft ever.

I don't think that will happen.

Essendon will offer them a contract over and above their penalties (that's the PR device I would use) and not too many clubs will risk wasting pick and list spots on players that might be sanctioned.

Hey guys have you all forgotten that a couplke of MFC players have things to answer in this same area.

One happens to be our captain.

Lets those without fault cast the first stone.

To me James Hird is in complete denial he did anything wrong because to him he is a perfect human being.

I just read this article about Major League baseball star Ryan Braun, who got suspended 65 games by MLB for PED use,

http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/brewers-slugger-braun-finally-admits-drug-use/

When you read this article you couldn't help but compare him to the situation James Hird is in

Yes, what Braun did was very similar. The only difference being that Hird was not a player in the comp.

But the arrogance, the disconnect, and the obfuscation are the same.

Braun has eventually apologised however...

Maybe Hird will get there one day.

Not forgotten. But as unfortunate as the JT case may turn out be, it is on an entirely different scale to what happened at Essendon.

As i prepare to be howled at if we have anything to answer...then so we must. If not, then not.

This is a scurge that needsto be unequivocally espunged.

The club will have him step down/removed etc within the next week i think. He is damaging their club and it will hurt them far worse if he stays. No matter the outcome

that group is always be stained with the allegations.

Glad its not us.

He might then try to sue the club, players, parents and supporters.

This game has lost me.... Its corrupt....

The AFL have known about this from the start... Hird is a pawn in this.... And after hearing that mother cry for her son!!! [censored] this game!!! Thats just [censored]!! Im finished with AFL....

Its Not the game tatu. its the Winning is everything attitude, thats been growing like a Tumour since around the 60's, that really started to show itself in the late 60's, & then famously when a young John McEnroe echoed the words of his college tutors, "Winning isn't Everything - It's the ONLYthing"...

this has been slowly snowballing since, & its continually built up speed, & is now nearing the bottom of the slope...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
