Best of all it's a tentative pick 54. There's still compensation picks for Franklin, Thomas, Betts, Sylvia, Ellis and White to be factored into it, so currently it's looking like a pick 60.

Some massive injury question marks but not much of anything was given up for him, I'm happy with the trade.

Yes, it will be around 59/60. Good point.

Great result. Have a little faith people we are a different club now! A likely candidate for Roos to work with and a bargain. Go you bloody Demons!

Some of the comments from Freo Supporters and how much they highly rate him..

''Congrats guys, you just picked up a 150 + game solid on baller. I'm pretty devo ATM, but well done''.

''As I said earlier. You have a best 22 player there easy. The steal of the trade period IMO''.Well done.

''you guys just got a massive bargain. he'll be as good for you in the midfield as roberton was in the saints backline''.

I'm a bit disappointed. But you guys have grabbed a champ. Hard running, tough at it, beautifully skilled, and an inherent set of footy smarts. Viv will be an asset for you guys next season and really fills a gap. I'll be attending a few more Dees' games next year.

''I wouldn't say Michie is particularly quick, his main asset is reading the ball off the ruckman's hands. He'll be a very good inside mid for you guys I think, he dominates the clearances in the WAFL games I've watched live. He was just unlucky that his role is the strongest part of our team (Fyfe, Mundy and Barlow).

''Viv is a really solid, natural footy player. I'm angry that he decided to leave us and I reckon you have got a bargain''.

At pick 54 we have gained a potential bagain and the bonus is that he is a well built 21 year old midfielder

In the one game he did play he cam on as a sub against Geelong at Simonds.

Had 7 Kicks and 6 handballs at 61% DE, 7 contested, and 3 tackles, 38% game time and 49 DT points.

Seems to have been a reasonable start to me against good opposition, stiff not to get more opportunity.

They wouldn't draft him if he was not going to be right. Simple as that. They would have done their due diligence on him and decided he would come in and play. I for one am stoked that we got him.

185 cm, 85 kg is good size for a 21 year old kid. We need some bigger bodies in the midfield, hopefully Viv is part of the answer

Highlights have been posted before but in this thread. but here they are again!

A couple more on youtube if you are keen

Interesting viewing. He's not the best overhead, but can do both inside and outside mid work, tackles well and has a nice burst in traffic to buy himself a few seconds. Also kicked a couple of really good balls in to the forwards which is nice to see and something Clark and Dawes will be happy to see.

Very happy with this deal and we certainly paid a good price for him. Hopefully we can continue in this vein.

Let's give the kid time to settle down and establish himself.

Let's hope that his injuries are behind him and he becomes a genuine goer for us.

And, please, please, no comparisons!

Better than Morton already... hahaha sorry couldnt help myself

What impressed me most was something I can't remember seeing from an MFC player for a long time - dishing off a handpass then heading off for the follow up receive, a couple of times.

Glad we got him cheap. Have some mates who played with him during his Chargers days and apparently he has some serious question marks regarding work ethic and discipline. I certainly hope this is not the case.

Interesting. Sounded very diligent in the Ross Lyon article linked earlier. If this was the case, maybe the injuries gave him a wake up call.

One way to look at this hypothetically is if Michie went into the open draft after the year he has had at WAFL level, would he have lasted until pick 54?

I would hazard a guess and say absolutely not.

Great to get him with virtually a free hit. Roos has history turning no-namers into good role players, hope Viv is the first of many.

God I hope he is on the park more often than not.

Would be horrible to have another Mitch C or Chris D who are injured consistently.

Hopefully our luck will change in that area.

Worst case, he is injured all the time. The only thing we are giving up is a spot on our list.

Wouldn't be the end of the world. Hope Mitch and Dawes can play this year though!

Yes you are right we will have to stamp out that stuff.

I just went onto the freo forum site also, it [censored] me off when I read posts on there (to quote):

- I'd bet $54 that he'll win their b&f next year;

- I'd bet $50 that they'll be on the bottom next year; and

- He'd play well in a crap team like dees.

I know we've sucked over the past few years, but geez I hope one day we can hold our own and stick it up these blokes - f#>king pisses me off!!!!

Well that is not the case now, seen him play at Peel a few times very solid worker wins the ball and works hard to receive and/or provide options. Really happy to get this kid plenty of upside and we basically gave up nothing for him

Welcome aboard Viv
