If Clisby gets more weeks than C. Brown then...

Just watched it again on AFL site.

Terlich gets up and Sexton is on the ground. He rolls over to all fours and extends his arms and arches his back. Looks OK at that point and the incident which was not shown is over.

He then goes to get up and the camera pans away.

Later is seen leaving the ground with two trainers and shoulder injured.

It appears he has hurt his shoulder when he got up and no one is near him. If that is the case, Clisby must get off as he hasn't caused the severe impact, whatever it is.

On the other hand if my summary is innacurate, so is my conclusion.

Interesting that a kick to the face which breaks a nose is less than body contact, as described by the MRP, which allegedly injures a shoulder.

Unless there is other video evidence that is damning, I would be fighting it.

Note the wording on the AFL site - 'Mitch Clisby, Melbourne, has been charged after an investigation by the AFL Match Review Panel with a level four engaging in rough conduct Offence. All the other charges just say they've been charged without this 'investigation'.

They undertook an 'investigation', presumably going beyond the TV footage, to see what happened.

CHAMP, I don't see how that adds up based on today.

The MRP have looked at the GCS Doc's medical report and concluded that the dislocation was due to the force of the tackle.

From the taping it would be reasonable to presume on the other hand that the shoulder was ready to pop.

The tackle itself did not appear to me to be excessively or unusually rough or violent.

Sexton's shoulder popping out was not related to Clisby's tackle.

It was a result of him pushing himself up off the ground.

I want the club to fight it.

But why a further investigation beyond the normal MRP?

Goldcoast must have complained to instigate that.

Those bastards.

5 seconds ish is that the injury taking place? If so i'm a little amused at how any penalty can be handed down with other players dragging clisby holding onto the gold coast player?

Looking forward to see if Melbourne challenge!

GO DEES

There is another film clip which I saw on the AFL site which shows Sexton on all fours and apparently OK after the incident had finished.

He then arches his back and extends his arms and then the camera pans away. He then presumably stood up. The next vision shows him being helped off the ground. I don' think there is any vision of Clisby causing this injury. If so challenge and win.

Sexton had a bad shoulder which was already taped and may have popped it standing up.

AFL game analyser showed the wrestle and Mitch should feel unbelievably disappointed if MFC don't challenge and get off.

The kid's shoulders just popped. Should feel filthy he got cited.

I remember watching the game and seeing Sexton going off the ground and trying to work out where it happened. If anything it happened during the wrestle which is completely accidental and not Clisby's fault.

Fight it MFC.

when do we ever challenge...seriously

Its not the MFC to challenge anything including the football or scoreboard.

Brown lucky with 3 weeks with his poor record and the fact that impact with a boot, which broke a player's nose, was found to be medium. I wonder what high is, death.

Agreed, Redleg. It was probably only luck that meant the injury wasn't worse (eg broken jaw, concussion, etc). So much for the head being sacrosanct!

The MRP is and always has been a star chamber, looking after their favourites and, like Brown, kicking the underdog in the face.

Worked brilliantly for Cyril. Also bent Griffen's arm back as shown on 360 tonight.

Protected species.

Apparently only Trengove can do a sling tackle, take three weeks for it but since then its been dead. It may look the same but when someone like Cyril does it, it is something that is benign.

Just saw Riolis tackle, talk about protected species. And yet again the MRP has looked only at the injury result and not the action, Riolis had the potential to hurt his oppositions head as with what happened to Trenners on Dangermouse, Clisbys there is no effing video evidence, in fact we see the injured player remonstrating on the ground perfectly fine and then the camera cuts later cuts to Sexton holding his shoulder.

What a joke.

And on another note, how did the FC seriously see Browns kick as accidental?

Whoops sorry unless it is Clisby in a tackle, in a melee of six or so other players and someone's shoulder pops out. Someone's been injured so there must be a culprit. Not much video but it must be the closest, identifiable Demon. Clisby your done!

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
