The article does mention his 22yo brother Josh as well! Who does he play for? (Hard to beleive as the brother in the middle that he would be hopeless!)

I am the brother in the middle and often referred to as hopeless.

The kicking can be rectified. He's certainly a goer and wouldn't take a backward step.

he wouldnt dare, his big brother would whack him ...lol :)

Are you serious?

Did the MFC put these clips up, or did they originate from AFL /NAB?

I love the way he attacks the ball - like his bro - but I guess his disposal is why he isn't mooted top 10-20. Only hits a few targets.

It's just the usual pick up of an article on the AFL site:

afl.com.au/news/2013-10-21/keeping-up-with-jones

It does no harm, i doesn't say anything to imply MFC is after him, so where's the potential disappointment or pick 9 issue? It keeps MFC in the news, is positive and I expect it will go into any portfolio we put together to lure a sponsor. Where's the harm. Maybe BB is right - you're not serious?

I knew I would get grilled for that :)

Yes I am serious. I don't mind it on the AFL site - it's great in fact . I just don't like seeing how the MFC published his highlight reel on their website at this point in time. Unless if they publish a different draftee everyday (Zac Jones being the first).

monnocular I too love his attack on the ball, also a big fan of his dash.

His highlights package is very impressive, and he looks every inch an inside midfielder. If his work ethic and improvement arc are anything like his brother's, he's going to be a great pick up for whoever gets him.

If Zac wanted to play with us he could take himself out of the National Draft and go into the Preseason Draft where we have pick #2 and pole position (if we can come to an understanding with GWS who have to reduce their list).

Ummmm, that's not allowed.

Part of me is hoping we don't draft him, just to upset the few in this thread who are carrying on as if he's the second coming of Nathan.

The part of me that hopes we do relates to an off field incident .

I would like to see them exact revenge for it together ,every Queens Birthday ,for a few years .

Wait.

Was Zak the little brother who had to watch his dad have his teeth kicked in, by some drugfu**ed Collingwood supporting scumbags who were jealous of his teeth?!

Wow.

Imagine if be was drafted by Collingwood!!

Totally agree on his want to get the ball.

His disposal is a lot like Big Bro.

Head down kick high and long.

I think he would be available at 40.

But I don't think he is worth it.

So he's like big bro, but not worth 40?

Your words not mine.

I said he kicks like big bro.

If I were picking a recruit these days his kicking would be No. 1 priority.

From what I have seen in the draft there are a lot of kids better disposal than Zac.

And if that was the highlights package let's see the lowlights

If he is like big bro in that he works hard at his game, is durable, courageous and unrelenting then he would be a great get at 40. As one of the bolters however it would be unlikely he will be available.

  • 2 years later...

Played a decent GF and gave everything. 21 disposals @ 85%DE. Was on 80% of the match. Could be a very valuable addition to our stocks now that he has some big game experience.

Signed until the end of 2017. Will he be in our future planning? I would assume 2018 and 19  will be his last opportunity to play with Nathan.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
