Peter Jackson the interim CEO.

he should be the permnent CEO, not interim

I hope he stays long term, hes just what we need, a guy with AFL experoience , fresh set of eyes, runs on the board..

and best of all he doesnt have the stench of MFC attached to him at all

He probably wouldn't be interested given his own business interests. As interim CEO I assume he'd be on consultant coin (i.e. costing a fortune), so a short term lark would suit him.

Nonetheless it's good to know that the club is in the hands of a man with many years of relevant experience and success while it finds a suitable permanent candidate.

Peter Jackson is all over it.

Like a cheap suit.

Smokin' new appointment.

Evidence?

MJT doesn't need evidence.

He just listens to the voices in his tiny brain.

"The Board is the first to acknowledge that today the Club as a whole, both on and off the field, has not met the goals we set 4 years ago. This is unacceptable and must be addressed."

Absolutely shocking.

The last time this club hired a well-known CEO, he wanted to throw money at a superstar and we dumped him because we wanted to go the youth route.

That has worked out superbly.

The ineptness of this club never ceases to amaze me.

I like, I like. 14 years at the Dons.

So did he leave EFC prior to this Melbourne job? and if so anyone know why?

He left to resurrect the flagging fortunes of his inexpensive imported suit business

The problem is we are inept at being inept, we can't even get that right. (tanking, getting rid of older players etc.)

Hopefully he will bring a supply of anti-ineptness pills and cure our stupidity.

Seems on the surface a sound decision but we will have to wait and see. From what I've heard the Bomber supporters say he was great at making money, but not so good at reinvesting it in the football department and he let the facilities run down; whether that's the way it was or not, who knows.

Yep just imagine signing JBrown on a $5m over 5yr deal when we were $5m in debt already,

We wouldn't have a club you goose.

I am also happy with this appointment. At the very least he will be in a position to cast an unbiased, critical eye over every area of the club.

Having said that, when he left Essendon in 2009 they weren't in great shape.

He also re-signed Knights on a 3 year deal, approximately 9 months of which he served.

Just heard Peter Jackson will be our new CEO, not sure if its interim or not.

[Admin edit: Confirmed as interim CEO]

Great if confirmed - I did ask what he was up to when news of CS sacking came through.

A big coup.

A huge task for him but he has a good history.

Maybe they are awaiting Gary Lyon's blessing / approval ;-)))

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
